    Good Points: Location and functions

General comments: This is in response to a previous review comment about Rivington Hall Barn. The food served up at Rivington Hall Barn is of a lovely standard. I felt that the half pork pie and pizza comment made previously was completely ridiculous...on the buffet served at Christmas Parties there is a complete selection of hot and cold foods with a wide selection to account for all tastes. As for the length of the queues and the business of the building, does this not prove that Rivington Hall Barn is a popular location for a party and people return year after year? As for the value of money, £35 I find is a reasonable price considering what is on offer. You are in a wonderful location, with friendly staff on hand, a band that performs two slots throughout the evening and a house DJ; a buffet that is served for an hour and a half (that is constantly being refreshed) and a bar that is fully stocked and served until 12pm.The barn is a old Anglo Saxon building and therefore it is impossible to change its size, therefore the size of the dancefloor and the amount of staff serving food has to be limited.

The venue was overcrowded, we think that they provided poor quality catering - there were 30 min queues to get to the buffet.
I will never go again for a Christmas function and will not recommend the venue to others I feel very disappointed given th ...

Bolton, Rivington Hall Barn - I got married here last summer and had a wonderful day. The venue is well-known locally and is usually booked up for weekends a year or so in advance.

Fortunately, the weather on our big day was wonderful, and we enjoyed drinks on the lawn in front of the hall for an hour or two. We then went into the Barn itself, a beautiful high-ceilinged building with huge timber beams. You can see pictures at www.rivingtonhallbarn.co.uk.

We'd chosen our meal from the rang ...
