I have used L'Oreal's Sublime Bronze Gel for a couple of summers and found it really good, it covered well with very little streaking so on going to buy a new tube I was a little concerned when I noticed it had been re-branded i.e. the packaging had been changed as I have come across this with other products when it hasn't only been the packaging that has changed but the 'revamped' item has also been altered. I should have trusted my instincts, on applying the gel I noticed I couldn't... (read more)

The good part is The product is lightweight and easy to apply. It works quickly, within an hour I saw deepening. My face was streak free. However the rest of my body wasn't, in particular, my legs were streaked. I used the medium natural tan, which was probably too intense for my fair skin. (read more)

As a very fair skinned woman with skin cancer running in the family, I am always struggling to find ways to get a tan without having to use tanning beds or spend extreme amounts of time in the sun. I bought this at walmart the first time because it was on sale and have loved it since. It lasts you forever! I washed normally and then applied it right after my shower, and a few hours later (not an hour as the bottle says, it was more like 3 or 4), I had a nice summer glow without any steaks.... I have tried so many really expensive self tanners (such as Clarins) but this one is really worth its price. Those who experience orange colour: it is VERY IMPORTANT to apply the gel on a fully exfoliated skin (if you don't have facial scrub then put some water in your palm and use fine sugar or sea salt, does the job perfectly) and apply it in VERY THIN layers very carefully, not to miss the area between the hair and the skin and EVEN it all over the face, neck, behind the ears etc. If you... This stuff is the stuff for me! I've tried a zillion fake tans (Garnier, Tan in a Can, Fast Tan, Nivea gradual ...), and this trumps em all. Its a tad more expensive than other supermarket ones, but totally worth it. - no streaks - lasting colour - looks completely natural It does stink, but I'm yet to find a tanner that doesn't. It also comes out of the bottle uber fast, and an all over body layer uses up like a fifth of the bottle. BUT IT LOOKS AWESOME. (read more)

Visible on your skin immediately. Gives a really nice colour and coverage on my skin. Can look a little bit too sparkly, really sticks to your hands and it doesn't stay on skin for very long at all, which is why I couldn't give it 5/5. If you're going out one evening and you've forgotten to fake tan beforehand, this stuff will show on your skin as soon as you apply it - I have found this to be particularly helpful!! The morning after, however, the water in the shower will be bright orange.... (read more)

This self tan is one of the best. I have fair skin and have tried so many fake tans. This one has a great colour, it doesn't streak! I scrub my body with a body scrub, wear plastic gloves when putting it on, I put two layers of the medium colour on, sleep with it on overnight, have a shower in the morning and its the perfect colour. It does have a fake tan.smell.but worth it cause it looks great! (read more)

It's cheap for a reason - I've probably tried around 15 different brands of fake tan, gels, mousses, sprays; this was one of the worst. Good points: Smells quite nice, It does make you a darker colour.. Bad points: It takes ages to soak in, becomes very, very patchy after a shower, turns you absolutely orange. Now that I've tried all the different brands, I would definitely not go back to this one. (read more)

Awesome colour ! I'm really surprised and it turns out that every product l'oreal release is great ! The Self-tanning gel is really easy to apply ,it smells good it has a shimmer to it and after the application the tan develops the first 2-3 hours .. you have to be careful with the hand and the wrists though because if you dont apply as good you may get streaks which is not very attractive .. I'm happy with the results and i'll definitely repurchase ;))! (read more)

L'Oreal is company which tests on animals - That means doing hideous thing we would rather pretend does not happen. It's down to YOU to stop buying products from companies that do this or the cruelty will continue. Don't kid yourself it is done humanely as it isn't. Next time you see Cherly Cole done up like a dogs dinner and think how nice she look just think about that. There are plenty of companies that do not test or use products that are tested on animals. I think people on this page are reviewing two different products under the Sublime Bronze gel name, and that is why there are mixed reviews.
The 'Fresh Feel' gel is a non-instant tanner in a see-through tube. It can easily be confused with the instant version which has almost the same name and packaging (see end of review for thoughts on this tanner).
Short version: Sublime Bronze 'Instant Tanner' gel = awful, Sublime Bronze 'Fresh Feel' gel = best self-tanner on the... (read more)

I tried the L'oreal Sublime Bronze One-Day Gel because I had seen ads for it, and it sounded too good to be true - an attractive instant tan that washes off in a day? That's awesome. But like I had thought, it was too good to be true.
It took me forever to apply this, because if I wasn't really careful, the color would be totally uneven, and I'd have to wash it off and try again. Sometimes while trying to rub it in, it would stop absorbing into my skin, and little bits of it would clump... (read more)

I bought this fake tan as they didn't have the one that I normally use (Rimmel - which is fab!) I put it on before bed, I normally do 2 or 3 layers and let it dry before going to bed.
I woke up half way through the night and my skin was all wet and sore, I left it thinking nothing of it. I got up the next day and my skin was badly burnt, very hot and blistered. It was agony!!! I would never ever recommend this fake tan or any other L'oreal fake tans to anybody!!!

I have used loreal sublime bronze fake tan (the instant one) and went to use it again yesterday and realised just how useless and disgusting it really is. It smells awful, not only after applying but for days after. Don't get me wrong; the colour is great and application easy, but everything else is a nightmare. I used L'oreal sublime gel for the first time going on holiday- before I even got to the beach I had a perfect, non-streaky tan. I'll admit it was a bit silly of my but I'd managed to put a whole bottle on in over a week before going on hoiliday. L'OREAL SUBLIME BRONZE FRESH FEEL GEL
I'm a bit of a fake tan addict and have tried most of the brands on the shelves, some good some bad! This is definately one of the good ones!
I'd never thought to try L'oreal's range of fake tan before but one day in Boots I just couldn't resist, I'd never tried a gel fake tan before and if I'm honest I was quite curious!

I'm just really disappointed that I paid $16 for a product that doesn't work on me. It doesn't work on me at all! I've been applying it every morning and I cannot even see a hint of colour difference.

I am a fake tan queen, i normally buy the moisturiser type, i brought this one because i needed some thing which dries quickly and gives a darker tan when i need it. This does dry quickly and it is clear, gives a deep colour. I have realized that any fake tan which gives a deep colour will go patchy, exfoliating and moisturising can help but does not stop it all together. I would use this tan if i needed a quick deep tan over night but would need to hide away for a few days once it goes patchy. (read more)
