My wife and I have used Halifax Online Banking for many years but of late their Fraud Prevention System has locking us out of our accounts at a frequency of about once every month. There is no logic for this (I HAVE ASKED FOR ONE) - the lockout happens when carrying out a transaction that has been carried out many times before and even when the money moved is retained within Halifax.

I have been a Halifax customer for over 20 years and have generally found their service reasonable. However they have finished me off this time with this so called 'simple charging' for a planned overdraft. It will cost £1.00 per day until the overdraft is cleared. I think they should use TV advertising less and 'give a little extra help' to their customers.

I have been using the halifax online Banking for over 3 years and find the colour coding very easy to follow. I pay all my bills online and can transfer easy from one account to another. I find this an excellent service. I feel people who are having trouble using this system it is because they are not fully understanding how to use it. I can look at my Mortgage for an uptodate balance also my sharedealing accounts. I don't know how I would manage without it!!!!

Halifax PLC have essentially choosen to rob those customers who make use of a small overdraft facility with their new so called "simple charging". If for example, I go into overdraft by £20 for 11 days it will cost me a total of £31 for the luxury of having borrowed the £20.

It simply amounts to extortion !

Now I am faced with opening a new current account elsewhere and moving all my direct debits and standing orders !

Thanky you Halifax PLC for your loyalty !!! ...

I have used service for more than 5 years without any problems. However on 10 and 11 October 2009, I have not been able to pay my online bills and let alone transfer my child's diner money.

Its sad to rely on such a service as there is no communication from the bank of what could be the problem

It is Brilliant WHEN IT WORKS !!!!
BUT I have been unable to pay my credit card bill for 2 days - Im getting close to penalty charges
Rang today (On a premium line) to be told it would be working by mid-day, Transfers are STILL NOT WORKING and it's 10.30pm

IT SUCKS - you have to be able to rely on a banking system.

Halifax has an excellent online banking system, very clear, simple, and easy to use.

I can do pretty much everything I need to online, and hardly have to visit a branch at all. Very easy to log in, very easy to transfer money, and no need for a card reader to do transactions.

The statement of transactions online is very clearly laid out, and updates instantly when you do a transaction.

I would recommend it to anyone who wants a bank where they can easily use online banking for everything they ...

Halifax Online Banking - To put it simply, it never, ever does what I want it to do. Also the e-mail address for help is virtually impossible to find. Considering changing to another bank account which has a far more user friendly and reliable system. Have a Current account with Lloyds TSB and it is 1000 times better to use their online banking, purely because it is easier and quicker to use as well as far more reliable. Would like to have trialled the system first in some way, as it seems very ...

The Halifax Online Banking service is almost impossible to understand with the best deals hidden under a host of misleading links. This is the worst service i have ever seen and should be scrapped and re-cast. Even the help-desk was less than helpful and one day I was kept on the phone for 23 minutes. I could go on....

Switched to Halifax about 2 years ago and registered for online banking. I don't have trouble getting online but find it extremely frustrating that there is a delay in transactions appearing online. e.g. my available balance may show £500 but the balance on the screen shows £800. I also use HSBC and their system seems to update immediately which is so much better for managing your money.

My statement date is 2nd of the month which is fine but the balance showing at the end of my ...

I have now tried four times to try to get logged on to the Halifax internet banking service, without any success. The first time it kept saying password not recognised, so I sent off for another temp password to get logged on and to change my password to the same as it was before. Having managed to get logged on and reset my password I logged out and tried to log back on . Still telling me that my password was wrong. This time it was part given at the time and part sent on email. I tried once aga ...

halifax online banking - yes it is handy for administrating your account but if you ever want to contact them by email then forget it. After hunting for hours for their online suport address I couldn't find it. As for their charges, well if 2 direct debits bounce, say goodbye to £98!!!! They are robbing scum and I for one hope the ongoing bank charge investigation brings about massive fines for these organisations that think they are above us and have no links to reality. I just wish this ...
