“You still need to go the branch!”

Absolute farce - because of problems and delays using the branch Halifax recommended using their Internet Banking service where I would get 24/7 365 days service and all from the comfort of my home. Then drawn into their ISA accounts which they dont tell you at the time, but anything regarding closing you need to go into the branch oh and dont expect to be able to read statements all the time, because these invariably disappear behind week long error messages blaming their system. “Halifax's internet banking and customer service is...”

Moving money around with internet banking is harder than other banks. Halifax require you to type the recipients phone number in, which they sell to 3rd parties for marketing. When you make a payment it can take days for it to show up on the online account meaning you can never see a up to date statement unless you don't use your card for a few days. “New Mobile Banking Crapp!”

Hi your new mobile banking thing looks snazzy and all but it does now not let you access the desk top site via mobile. This is no good if you need to cancel or change standing orders or debits quickly and easily... The old one was better you mentally deficient idiots. This has practically ruined my life, seriously. “Savings Account Maturity”

I tried to log onto my online banking account and it would not work after trying to re set my password nothing would work. I called their call centre who tried to help me do it step by step and that still did not work and the woman on the phone hung up. I called back and was told I would receive something in the post that will help me re set my password but I will have to wait 5 days, or I could go into my local branch. “Why am I still with them!!”

“Do they really care?”

I have had a Halifax account for about 20 years and some time recently I started using Halifax online. Its a nightmare! Twice I have changed my registered mobile phone number. I should take a couple of days to be updated, The first time it took months. “Useless, dysfunctional and thoughtless”

What on earth is the point of an "online" service that tells you to call on 0845 number to do anything except look at your account? I simply wanted to tell Halifax tat I'd be using my credit card abroad but can't do that online. “Halifax Abroad+”

“Halifax Online Banking losing the plot”

Logged a complaint so that it will go on Ombudsman statistic. I locked myself out of my account, not even sure whether it's the password or the memorable word. Perfect. Found the reset password link. Went through numerous internet banking hoops only asked to call with a reference number. “Beaurocracy at its worst”

“Over the top security”

Have a mortgage and credit card with halifax. after forgetting password for online account went through the process of resetting. got called by automated service to prove who I was, entered details then the screen said to call them on an 0845 number. after confirming who i was i was informed password could not be reset over phone as i dont have a bank account with them. i would have to go into branch to prove who i am. i dont see where the problem is, ther online credit card doesnt allow you… Read Full Review

Best thing to do is log a complain so that it will go on Ombudsman statistic. I just had the same issue. The process is poorly designed.

I couldn't reset it over the phone because I don't have a phone banking password where I only bank online (Get the message?)

I can't transfer money out without keying in the 4 digit security code via my phone anyway so a message to whoever that design this process. Absolutely poor zealots.

“Most dreadful beaurocracy ever!”

Living in Germany in my 3rd address. Tried to change address, not able to online as the forms only take UK addresses. Sent a letter, which was 'lost'. Sent a second, received a reply to my new address stating that this address change could not be done without a copy (verified by a solicitor)of my passport and a recent utility bill (translated). “Unreliable”

Incredibly slow to update balances (a week later, still waiting for mortgage balance to update after payments). More often that not it's unavailable.
