    Good Points: Brilliant suction

    Bad Points: Dangerous
    Noisy
Difficult on lower stairs and top stairs - hose too short to do a normal flight of stairs with stretching into strange positions.

General comments: Loved my dyson dc07 for two weeks, until ....
cutting through the cable accidentally with the Dyson. I was using the hose under the bed moved around the bed, when it stopped dead. The Dyson had run over the cable as I tugged, and immediately cut cleanly through the cable. The blades continue to spin even when you use the hose, unlike the older ones that cut out the blades when you use the hose for safety! Fortunately, it didn't kill me andI managed to get to the electrical supply to switch it off.

I always make sure the cable is away from the machine by carrying it over my shoulder, but if you bend down to do under the bed, sofa, radiators (well anything really) the cable touches the floor, the Dyson runs over it and crunch, you are very lucky to be alive.

I rang Dyson to complain. They said they made it clear in their handbook not to run over the cable! They said the blades are so fast they can cut through the cable in seconds - they are not wrong on that one! They didn't want to know about repairs and were unhelpful, superior and downright rude when I complained that the safety warnings about this were poor. I suggested a lable on the machine or along the cable, they met this suggestion with the same disconcern.

One think I was told, if you purchase the machine with the 5 year warranty if you don't have the receipt from where you bought the machine you don't get the 5 year warranty. Apparently the receipts fade and after a couple of years you can't read them. I was told to photocopy my two week old receipt so I would be able to read in a couple of years time.

I have misgivings about the safety of this Dyson and have not used it again without a circuit breaker. Personnally, I feel that this machine, and any other Dyson that is able to cut through a cable is dangerous. Dyson should supply a circuit breaker. They customers do not realise they are using something akin to a lawn mower in their lounge. They think the kids and mom and dad can use it safely!

My kids used to have vaccuming on their chore list, they don't anymore, I don't let them anywhere near it, I also keep my pets and my mother and father away from it now, if it only takes a second to get distracted and run over/cut through a cable.

Wear your steel toe caps, I would, if I had any!

I had to have a new cable fitted at my own expense. I have sent the cable to the Health & Safety Executive with a letter of complaint.

    I would not buy again.

The Dyson DC07 has very good suction compared to the DC01 which I replaced with it. It is easy to empty. The only thing I found, again comparing it to the Dyson DC01 I had before this model, is that the suction through the hose isn't as strong as on the DC01. I also find that the DC07 is pretty heavy and noisy, but it works for it supposed to do: vacuuming!

For me cheap models have worked better than this Dyson DC07 with less problems. It isn't particularly cheap and then it broke so soon!

Dont buy a Dyson DC07 silver yellow upright. They are expensive vacuum cleaners to buy and my motor only lasted 2 years.

My advice is to buy a Henry hoover and you wont go wrong!

I am paying to have it fixed, because I think I would struggle to find a better one. Only gave it a 7 and nothing more because of disappointment that the motor hasn't lasted longer for the price of the Hoover. Would advise that you do not overstretch the hose section, as this will split (as mine did). Hoover quite heavy if you're not very strong.

The Dyson DC07 silver yellow upright vacuum cleaner is the best one I have used, including industrial ones. The biggest issue that I have is the stairs. If I leave it at the bottom, it tips up and it is impossible to hold it and hoover at the same time. Does anyone have any useful tips to help with this task? Maybe I am using it wrong. I also find that the pipe bends, so lessens the suction.

The Dyson DC07 upright vacuum cleaner really does pick up dirt, and really easily.
It also removes animal hairs, and makes cleaning the stairs really easy.
It is much easier to empty than previous models. Mine is red however, not silver and yellow - a much nicer colour.

It has lifetime filters that you wash, so there are no extra expenses.

I have had a Dyson DC07 vacuum cleaner for two years, and I was happy for the first year, then it started falling apart. The attachment handle fell off, then the second year it refused to pick up dirt down where the brush is, but the attachment will pick up dirt.

The machine is over-priced and over-rated.

I was a bit of a Dyson skeptic until I bought the DC07 model in a sale. It is the first vacuum that I have owned that really sucks up the dirt. The only problem is that it is a bit heavy. Unless you live in a single storey house, you are probably better off with one of the smaller models.

I have always disliked 'Dysons' without using them, I decided to get a Dyson DC07 and was very pleased to see how easy it picks up dog hairs on my tiled floors and my carpeted floors, crumbs etc to, it has a nice long cable on it to.
Very easy to empty, just wash the filter every 5/6 months and it keeps the suction to what it should be.

I got a Dyson DC07 silver yellow upright because I had been persuaded that they were the best. Didn't like it from the start because it was difficult to use, heavy and time consuming when applying attachments. I have cats and found that it just refused to pick up little bits of litter which scattered about. Neither would it pick up other little hard items. Very disappointed all round, as even this cheapest model is not an inexpensive machine cleaner.

I bought this Dyson DC07 silver yellow upright almost a year ago under the pretense that it was supposed to be a good vacuum. The truth is that Dyson products are completely over-rated! It has been a nightmare. The suction on the machine is OK, but definitely not any better than some other similar priced vacuum cleaners. I have a long-haired dog and found that this machine could not cope with cleaning up the hair properly. Cleaning anything with the hose was also a total nightmare as the proces ...
