The Nokia 1600 is a good basic phone, does the job and is quite study and robust, very easy to use, it has a really good long lasting battery, a reliable phone and very quality budget phone that really gets the job done and a good starter phone, great buy, i recommend it.

As a basic phone, talk, text & organiser, the 1600 is superb at what it does. Very similar to the Nokia 1100, except better battery life, looks better, and has a colour screen (though no inbuilt torch!!) Bought this phone to use as a spare as my 6230 camera slide phone was always going wrong, and ended up using the 1600 as my main phone for a good length of time, as well as buying a second to give as a Christmas present.

A phone giving very good return for your money. It does all those things very well which it claims to do. ONE SHOULD DO SOME HOMEWORK AND RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING A MOBILE. This has most of the basic features and fast software and an excellent battery life. If one wants PDA functions, camera and music and all those bells and whistles then he should shell out more money and be prepared for a shorter battery life as all these consume good chunk of battery. Though i have a SE 550i and a motorola W220 ...

Nice phone for the money, but the speaker shorted out after only a week! It does have a one-year warranty, though.

This phone really grows on you. It's so reliable! I've always stuck to Nokia's in the past because of a bad experience with Motorola. This one has superb battery life, doesn't break on you, great games, so cute and it is great value!

Apart from the camera, I'd like it if there were more backgrounds and if the ringtones were a little better. But if you're just looking for a phone that does what it says on the tin, this is the one for you.

I love it! I want to keep it forever. Good riddance ...

The Nokia 1600 mobile phone is small but not as lightweight as you would imagine. It does have poor menu selection, no option for a repeat alarm, and its vibrate option is too powerful to be discreet.

However, for a standard phone to make calls, send SMS and for general use, it will do. It has real value for money and feels quite resilient to knocks and bumps.

It is ideal for anyone that doesn't need a high tech phone full of MP3, video, picture message features and memory card options. ...

Well... I think if they sorted out the memory issue the Nokia 1600 is a fantastic mobile phone for the money. But the things I mentioned as the bad points in my mind is Core functionality! I.E... even a basic phone needs to store the data well and reliably. So this will effect the over all rating I would give this phone.

Its a wee bit cutesy but this is a very customisable phone .. you can turn the cutesy stuff off! Good one.

Overall, the Nokia 1600 is a very good mobile phone for the price of it. You should buy one if you want a nice, small, simple phone, with lots of customization for a cheap price.

I really like the Nokia 1600, it's nothing fancy but it's a nice looking phone that ticks all the boxes.

It's dead easy to use, can play MP3's and polyphonic tunes, has a nice colour screen, wallpapers and animated screen savers. It is pretty robust, believe me it's hit the deck a few times!!! I'm always happy buying a Nokia - you get that reassurance of quality that you sometimes miss with other brands.

Like I say, it's fairly basic - the posers and IT girls wouldn't touch it with a barg ...
