Good Points: Nothing, I found it an awful experience!Hotel location was good.

Bad Points: I think the staff could have been a lot better all round, I thought the breakfast was poor, under construction at all times (our room was painted one day when we were out sightseeing).

General comments: I thought this hotel was a disaster. I don't think it is worth the 'affordable' rates. I'd stay away from Hotel des Arts, if I were you.

I had a fantastic stay at the funny but excellently situated Hotel Des Arts Montmartre. From our room you could see the domes of the Sacre Coer and some excellent panoramic views over the rooftops of Montmartre right into Paris.

While many people have given the Hotel Des Arts Montmartre in Paris good reviews, many have also complained about overbooking and being shunted off to other hotels. I just returned from Paris and my "confirmed" reservation through Travelocity was not available. The hotel claimed to have no record of it. They blamed the booking agent. By claiming the reservation had never been made they took no responsibility for paying for an equal or better room some place else. I wound up paying twice, with my ...

Th Hotel Des Arts Montmartre room was small, dingy (brown carpet on the walls) a bathroom that dated from the 60's with a shower that sprayed water all over the floor when you used it. There were none of the tea/coffee making facilities, safe or other extras you expect as standard in any hotel nowadays.
The breakfast was a choice of croissants or bread roll !! Tea, coffee or orange juice.
We asked to be moved back to Hotel des Arts and were told that the problems were not going to be fixed so ...

We booked to stay at Hotel Des Arts early March 2006. On arrival we were told that there was no heating or power on 5th floor and we were to be moved to a more expensive hotel at no extra cost. We were driven to Hotel du Mont Dore. The price was higher but this didn't make sense as the area was worse and the hotel didn't look as nice. We wondered whether the Arts was being used to lure customers with good quality at low price only to farm out all the surplus to other hotels and I looked for revi ...

The practice of being shunted on to other hotels in Paris is alive and kicking at Hotel des Arts - interestingly no longer a member of Logis de France! You could well find yourselves in the shoes of many travellers before you if you book this Hotel. Do so at your peril!!

My son & daughter gave my husband and I an all expenses paid visit to Paris including the excellent travel provided by 1st class Eurostar. We arrived in Paris back in May for a 3 night stay. After carrying our heavy baggage f ...
