  Good Points: Superb look, achieved via natural Grenadilla wood grain and well finished key work. Playability is excellent due to responsive key action, easy blowing resistance and warmth of tone at all ranges and dynamics.

  
  

  Bad Points: Not much to fault here. Some players may want to consider alternative mouthpiece, embouchure options but the Ebonite setup provided is more than adequate. The case provided is a little too small for my liking, but more than adequately protects the instrument when stored.

  
  

  General comments: I sourced one from a UK online store at £810 + £2.75 UK shipping. Got to be the best value for money option around at the moment for a pro model which will carry most people well into their musical future.

  Yamaha YCL-CX Bb Custom is an excellent clarinet, a real rival for the buffet R13, you can also get this clarinet for an amazing price, retail is £1300 at my local Yamaha dealer it was £994 - BIG saving and bargin price for a professional model. If you are a student in full time education you can also buy this instrument VAT free like I did, this will save you another £150 nearly. All in all a brilliant instrument and I would recommend it to anyone.
