    Good Points: Friendly and polite staff. Multilingual Staff. Quick and efficient check-in. Comfortable seating. Quality and condition of aircraft. Cheap


    Bad Points: Quality of the in-flight meal/snack. Delayed flight on return leg


    General comments: This was the first time we have flown with VLM and as with other people, we were a little apprehensive. We had to purchase tickets at the last minute because of the fire in the Channel Tunnel and were flying from London City airport to Amsterdam for the weekend. However our apprehension unjustified because VLM was overall excellent for the reasons listed. The fares (considering we bought only a few days in advance) were excellent, £65 from London £24 return leg however the taxes at London City are phenomenal - which is no fault of the airline - taxes made up 50% of the total return ticket cost.Our return flight was delayed by 20 minutes, this was due to some disorganisation with a disabled passenger and getting him down two flights of stairs to the aircraft waiting on the tarmac. It could have been avoided had they seated him earlier than the able bodied passengers rather than just before the flight was due to board.The only other minor complaint was the quality of the in-flight snack. It was fine and edible, but below standards of other airlines I have flown with.

    This was the first time I had used VLM for a business trip and I was somewhat apprehensive about flying with such a small airline and indeed on such a small plane.

    However, my fears were soon allayed. The check-in staff were welcoming and professional. Although my flight was delayed both on my outward journey and on my return, again the ground staff could not have been more helpful or courteous.

    Check-in at City Airport was very efficient as usual. We also checked in for the return flight later that day to save time queuing twice. The Fokker 50 aircraft was clean and tidy, and it left the gate on time. However, there was a warning light that came on just after we had started the take off run, and so we had to abort take off. It was all handled very professionally, and we taxied back and went to the back of the runway again. Therefore, we took off about 15 minutes late, which is not bad, ...

    Excellent customer service from VLM on the internet and subsequently on the phone; friendly, professional and efficient air stewards; excellent in-flight snack, very healthy and fresh; fast baggage handling; quick check-in - I really cannot fault this airline or their destinations and would recommend them completely.

    Flight - MAN to LCY return.

    Having read mixed reviews about VLM Airlines, I was a little unsure before flying how it would go. No need to worry in the end. The friendly crew dealt with minor delays wonderfully, with full communication and vouchers for the inconvenience.

    The flight was quick and smooth, with good food; and the crew for both flights were friendly and attentive. This little airline are punching above their weight but do a good job. I recommend them for their value and servi ...

    VLM Airlines are one of the worst airlines I have ever flown with. The on-board sandwich was stale, and we were told that as the flight we were booked on had been cancelled by the airline, they did not have any other refreshments for us. After standing in an airport for a very long time - unacceptable. Especially considering on arrival, we then had to get on a bus to be driven to the airport we were supposed to arrive at.     I had never heard of VLM before I flew with them last month and I've got to admit I was slightly nervous. Having only ever flown as a tourist before I was used to the larger planes and airlines and was worried how VLM would match up but I have to admit I was very impressed.

    I'd never heard of VLM before I ventured south from Manchester to London City Airport this year. We were on a Fokker 50 plane which has got about 40 seats, on the way down there were only 12 people on the plane, not bad for £20, I felt a bit of a rock star in a private plane.
