“GREAT FIRST BIKE OR EVEN SECOND FOR COMMUTING”

Written on: 24/10/2011

BOUGHT MY 2007 YAMAHA 125X JUST UNDER A MONTH AGO AND ALL I CAN SAY IS WHY GET ANYTHING ELSE IF ALL YOU WANT IS SOMETHING FUN, PRACTICAL AND ECONOMICAL TO GET AROUND TOWN. CHEAP TAX CHEAP INSURANCE AND CHEAP TO RUN ARE ALL MORE REASONS TO GET ONE OF THESE. MINE HAS HAD A COUPLE OF SIMPLE MODS LIKE FULL NEW DEP EXHAUST SYSTEM AND THE REV LIMITER BEING BYPASSED (GREEN AND BLACK WIRE BEHIND THE SPEEDO CLOCKS CUT AND EARTHED TO THE FRAME)BIKE DOES 80MPH EASILY AND GETS THERE QUICKER THAN MOST... fantastic bike for fun or commuting quick for what it is but panels do fade quickly from the sun i think yamaha could have put more money into the build quality of it but its far better to the tdr or honda xr etc best 125 trials bike on the market da 125 x are vary economical while still being enjoyable to drive if thinking about buying one of these bike take a good long look for surface rust on the frame and spokes of wheels and where the horn rad handle bars all join as these are points... The Yamaha DT125 is learner friendly and perfect for preparing you for the next step up in bikes. The engine revs freely and has good power throughout the gears. The brakes have a nice feel and can bring you to a quick stop if needed too. The handling is good when on twisty roads. (read more)

Written on: 10/01/2007 by jogfield

As an experienced off road biker, I decided to go about getting my full UK bike license. The Yamaha DT 125 X was a great choice in bike between CBT and full license. I am quite a big person, about 16.5 stone, so needed a 125, whilst on my CBT, to get familiar to road riding in the UK. I couldn't have chosen a better bike. The DT 125 X has the height, power and stability for myself and to be honest, is one of the most impressive 125CC motorbikes I have ever ridden. I'm not mechanically... (read more)

The Yahama DT125X easy to modify (at least the old ones are) and improve with deep pipes and the servo and power valve to give that nice deep DT sound also good acceleration and alright top speed. Not the fastest bike on the market but probably one of the best value I have seen. (read more)
