I’m not a natural review writer but I feel I ought to write as I’ve just had a surprisingly good experience with this firm which I’d like to share. My family and I have used Yor Car for years and they have always been good: easy to book, cars are in good condition though probably not as fancy as say Avis – but then do you really need a brand new Golf for a holiday rental? I have a villa in the beautifull Algarve and rented cars over the last 7 years, several times a year at Yor car hire. Good cars, in good condition, no older than 2 years, always a good price and very friendly and helpfull staff. Before I have rented with International companies, which where much more expensive, but why pay more if I an get the same for less. I PAID 23 EUROS FOR 1 WEEKS CAR HIRE THIS WAS A LOT CHEAPER THAN TRANSFER CHARGES TO ALBUFIERA CAR WAS A 2 YEAR OLD FIAT PANDA WITH 44000 Kms ON CLOCK IT HAD A FEW SMALL MARKS ON CAR SPOTLESS INSIDE VERY ECONOMICAL ON PETROL I DROVE APPROX 225Kms FOR 15 EUROS PETROL I FOUND THE HIRE COMPANY EASY AND EFFICENT TO DEAL WITH AND WILL BE BOOKING AGAIN LATER THIS YEAR (read more)

BEWARE! I experienced problems with this company. We returned the car to Faro airport and the representative stated that the car was excessively dirty inside and charged us E25 for cleaning. Indeed the car had some sand around the ledges in the boot, but in our opinion this was in no way excessive and would not extend the time it took to vacuum the car prior to the next customer. Friendly staff, awaiting at arrival at the airport on time. The car had some scratches which were already pointed out in the renting contract by the staff. They said they would not charge for small scratches made by opening doors, etc, which they didn't. I even delivered the car in a bit dirty/dusty condition on which they didn't charged me for additional cleaning costs. In my opinion this is a friendly, serious and reliable company. I rented a car with YorCar from Lisbon, but they used their partner, Ausocar, which was fine with me. Seat Ibiza was scratched all around, but clean inside with 70k kilometers on the clock.
Initially I was quite afraid while returning the I haven't noticed some scratches and they will try to rip me off, but it did not happen, the guy acted in good faith and searched for signs of real new collisions.
Why I gave then 4, not 5 stars - there was a mix-up with rental conditions between YorCar...

YORCAR - FARO AIRPORT
We had asked for a VW Polo and got a Seat Ibiza but the car was in good condition. We had asked for a seat for my child who is 11 months and this was not of good standard and so I would recommend either taking your own or making a point of checking that YorCar have a seat you are happy with before you sign the forms at the airport.

Firstly, the model of car hired is always an exemplar of the group, rather than an actual car that you will receive - and an Ibiza is equivalent to a Polo.
Secondly, wheels and tyres are rarely (if ever) covered unless you take out your own excess insurance (nor is damage to the glass, the roof, the underside or the interior!). Don't presume that going with a bigger company will help or that the excess cover they offer will cover all eventualities.
It appears that you paid the garage price for replacement of the tyre, so YorCar made no charge. Whilst the fact that this was not covered by insurance may have come as a nasty surprise, I can't see that YorCar acted any differently to another hire company, so hardly warrant 1 star.

The Yor Car price offered is very low, compared to bigger companies. Though a service - well, there ain't no service.
Booked a car via internet. Met an agent in the airport - he didn't even bother to talk, not mentioning greeting.
Signed the papers got the car - Matiz with 30,000 km, quite poor condition.
Didn't fall apart, though.
Overall - for 140 euro for 7 days I got what I looked for. If you are looking for a bargain - check it out. But if service and reliability are important for...
