Bad Points: We have had the AEG 8081 Favourite dishwasher in our house for 6 1/2 years. We are extremely disappointed in this dishwasher. It was top of the range when we purchased it - cost $1700 aus dollars. It is now a useless heap of garbage. The board has burnt out, we were told that they are very expensive to replace, as they have less and less in the country up goes the price. For an expensive product it is very disappointing. The leak in it seems unreasonable. Half is only really wear and tear.
Having a noisy pump we don't accept and also that the brackets were broken - this obviously represents cheap workmanship, but is supposedly manufactured in Germany.
Also having the board burnout we don't accept either.
This machine also had to have work done on it under warranty.
General comments: Our conclusion is that AEG products are a cheap inferior product with poor workmanship with a very expensive price tag. We have learnt our lesson we would never touch another AEG product.
We would never again touch AEG.

The AEG Favorit 8081-1M has been the most expensive domestic appliance we ever bought, many advanced features but bitterly disappointed with the service, AEG attitude and the cost of repairs. Enclosed tubular heaters are supposedly more reliable but we have had five go in seven years, plus other faults. As unreliable as the cheapest brands we owned in 30 years.- Read Alanwin's review (81 words)

It stopped the other day and we called the local service agent as AEG no longer have factory service personnel in Australia as they did when we purchased it. Five days later the serviceman calls and informs us that the parts will be VERY expensive and he'll order them. We pay him $110 AUD for the call. Fortunately I checked the price of the main control module with AEG when he left and was quoted $470 plus tax. When I rang the agent ...- Read Grahame Foster's review (247 words)
