Like the previous reviewer says the zoom function on the Hawke Sport HD 3-9x40 is very stiff.
All in all it is a nice bit of no frills kit. Whatever you get in your sites, you will hit (assuming you set the cross airs up correctly.) The other reviewer who says you need a tuning kit must be reviewing the wrong scope or he forgot to unscrew the protection caps that protect the adjustors.
I have it on my BSA XL Tactical and they go soooo well together.

At first glance your made its good quality scope because of the brand. However, the scope is terrible the scope cant take the recoil of a normal legal air rifle BSA lighting, the crosshair needs alot of light to look sharp my overall view is that this would suitable for japanese £70 air rifle in other words you may as well bin it if youve got a decent £600 rifle Bsa Superten MK3

I bought this Hawke Sport-HD 3-9x40 scope as part of a deal from BAR when I bought my new rifle from them. It is very clear, looks smart and is a good no frills scope for the beginner.
It's only let down is the zoom wheel, it's very stiff and is not smooth when turned. Then again, it could be like that for a reason? It's my first zoom scope, but I can't adjust the zoom while in a firing position, it's a two hand job and I don't want to twist the scope in its mount. But I have to say, it's a bar ...
