Good Points: They get a one because they used to be fast and reliable
Bad Points: Slow now. Poor customer service. Keep getting my bills wrong. Now insist on a minimum 12 month contract.
General comments: I have cancelled my service with Freedom2Surf since they are very poor now. They used to be fantastic with really fast speeds. Recently access is very slow and they keep getting bills wrong and are months behind (they just took May's money in July). The customer service is poor, they are usually slow to respond.

Unfortunately, I am not happy with Freedom2Surf anymore and do not recommend this internet provider to anyone else. What used to be a well run, organized and high-quality ISP I felt has now become unreliable and frustrating for me.
Most evenings I struggle to reach 30KB/s when downloading over HTTP. This results in sloppy, un-predictable web access with almost no scope for downloads to complete in a reasonable time.
To be fair, if I ever find myself accessing the Internet at 4am in the morning ...

Recently very very slow. Some websites do not load yet others like BBC are fine. Do not recommend anyone moving to F2S until reliability and speed are improved. So far it is about 1 month with very slow internet. I just give up and do not use the internet some evenings.

F2S were like a breath of fresh air when I first joined them from Bulldog broadband in May 2006. Back then there was never any need to contact them about any problems - the speed was amazing in comparison to what I had been used to, and I never experienced a single outage. However I started to notice a considerable speed decrease in recent months, but I was willing to overlook this as a temporary blip until they had a complete outage over about a week in February this year. No hassle - little need to contact customer support. On two occasions I have theres been a quick helpful response. They have just re-jigged packaged so I pay £1 less each month for double usage capacity.Speed always been good (apart form a few weeks ago). On MAX and get 4.5 - 6 usually.
I've found to be reliable, good value and without hassle. I'd recommend as a home product.

I've been with f2s for 3 years and have finally had enough. I've had too many outages during this time for it to be called a reliable service. Its a shame because it used to be good in the early days. I've not been impressed with the service either. I'm canceling today and moving on elsewhere.

Very good when I joined in 2006. The package was very competitive in what it offered.
A sad demise for what was a good outfit.The change in service seemed to coincide with the change of ownership. Possibly a contributing factor.I hope they pull things together soon? For the time being I do not recommend www.freedom2surf.net.

Slow emails, I have emailed them to complain, but it could be some time before they get it in my opinion!
4.4.5 Too many connections to this host, is the main message I get!If enough people would be kind enough to leave F2s we may get some service back!

Until recently, I was a happy customer but my view is changing. They take an inordinate amount of time to respond to logged issues and calling them on the phone is a nightmare in my opinion. Recently my email started to play up as far as I am concerned. I thought it would settle but it didn't. Now I have no email - nothing gets through at all. I set up a new email account and nothing gets through to that either. It is a shambles as far as I am concerned. I do not recommend Freedom2Surf.

Unfortunately what was a very good isp is now not, in my opinion, first due to the acquisition by Pipex and now... Tiscali! My broadband has been off for over a week. No explanation was given, in fact when I first reported it, they told me it must be a fault with BT! As far as I am concerned they didn't bother to tell me, as I have since learned, that Tiscali had instructed them to migrate all F2S customers to their own platform. These guys mislead at best... I have been very happy with the service provided by freedom 2 surf. The broadband service has been without fault. I have only once been told the broadband was not working but that was overnight.The best broadband supplier in the uk in my opinion, if you want faultless service. It is quick and easy to set up and then forgot as it works faultlessly.

Recently had problems with non delivery of mail, it appeared that they had server problems for a few days following an up grade their end. This was eventually sorted but the problems continued. Some e-mail from specific senders just did not arrive and the delivery is still very slow. I spent over 40 minutes on the phone twice in one day and still did not speak to anyone (premium rate calls too) and my e-mail was unanswered for days. I do not recommend freedom 2 surf, in the space of a few months it went from the best isp in the country to the worst in my experience.
In my opinion this has happened since Tiscali took over, as far as I am aware users are migrating away in droves.
Notice the banner adds on the main page proclaiming "voted best isp" yadda yadda yadda as far as I am concerned they are 3 years old, in the past 12 months no one, not a single person I have met has a positive thing to say about this isp.

I knew the Panayeas brothers who originally founded Freedom2Surf and got a great service for quite a few years. Now that it has been folded into Pipex, over the past 18 months the reliability has in my opinion become poor.I have 15 domains, with email and web hosting and the support guys don't really appear to care when my email takes 24 hours to arrive. I was paying £82 per month for a 20:1 contention ratio and an 8 meg unlimited package.
When they got taken over and no longer supplied the 20:1 contention ratio, they switched me to a low-end home package, but continued to charge for the high end package. I phoned often about the poor quality of the service, but no-one mentioned that the package I was paying for didn't exist anymore, and that they didn't do business packages.

Tiscali took them over. No support on weekends, frequent disconnections, very slow speeds at peak times i.e just above dial up.Support tell you they will call back and then do not.

We are trying to run a business using the services of Freedom2surf, and would not recommend them to anyone after experiencing problems with no in mail over the whole weekend.
The company is content to have a sales line open over the weekend to sell, however no tech or customer support for clients with problems on a weekend.
Consequently we have lost of a lot of money though lost sales. We consider inmail a mission critical application.

I've been with Freedom2surf for 3 years and overall - especially bearing in mind the seeming trend for all UK ISP services to get worse over time - have been very happy with their service. I'm currently helping a relative deal with the antics and terrible service of their once-excellent, now demonic provider, which has moved me to write this positive review! (Just don't let me down now, guys...)
