Good Points: The 740 is an outstanding car. Hands down the most stylish and comfortable sports sedan made. I owned a 96 iL for over 5 years. Loads of compliments, great for road trips. Tranquil driving - quiet, and yet very powerful.

Bad Points: Nearly every LED display on the dash board had missing pixels. The cats and exhuast system failed at 85K, 8 years old, that was over $4K to repair. I went through 4 complete sets of brakes and rotors in 50K miles at over $1500 each replacement. The last straw was the driver's seat heater shorted out. $1200 to fix.

General comments: The last straw was that drivers seat heater that failed. After spending nearly $10,000 in repairs over 5 years ownership, I was just sick. As much as I loved driving the car and the looks of it, I absolutely hated it. It stole several weeks of my life away from me going back and forth to the repair shop. It robbed me of $10,000 in repairs that under normal circumstances should never have happened to any car.
The day I traded it for my 2007 Honda Accord with leather, V6 and 6 speed manual was the happiest day of car ownership!

The quality of the BMW 740i is total; engine, body, interior, transmission, breaks, suspension, steering, comfort, safety, control, style, a discreet work of art.At 170 km/h'silence, silence and tranquil exhilaration, confidence, time and space disappear. It is better to drive this car solo'no distractions, just the pure joy of driving. However, passengers will also love the ride. When on this car, people tend to speak less.On this car, a sharp curve bends against the laws of physics and stretch ...

3k bought this 1994 BMW 7 Series 740i on gut instinct... no service history.. no owner documentation. But thankfully my instinct bought me a lady owned 42k genuine vehicle with as it turns out a full BMW service history and it is Superb, now looking for a 750 for more family outings and track days !!

If like me you are looking for a 60k bargain and want to stand out from the crowd.. forget the Subaru's Evo's and M3's buy an earlier 7 series. It still has the looks grunt and BMW engineering exc ...

The BMW 7-Series 740i V8 LS is all the car anyone could possibly need, although it doesn't look as classy as a Mercedes S-Class. Despite its size, it elegant. It's the luxury car for people who like to drive rather than be driven. My 7-Series is almost flawless; a fantastic amount of car for the money. Servicing and parts costs a lot, but not as much as the depreciation. I haven't had any problems with my BMW. The car is smooth to drive - the suspension irons out every little bump. It is an e ...
