Line does not last 12 inches at the most, any line, the unit looks good but it is useless. You spend more time with the unit upside down than trimming the lawn. (read more)

Same problem as everyone else with line breakage. although the result when it DOES work is excellent. Spent at least 95% of the time fixing spool issues, often with just a couple of inches cutting between breaks. Tried many cords, and eventually a much heavier one, which stripped the ratchet in the feed mechanism (although it worked a treat until that happened). I'm now searching for instructions on how to remove the spool head completely so I can fit one that takes heavier cord. Once again... (read more)

Yes, the line did keep snapping, every few seconds of use. The flymo line supplied was completely naff, total rubbish. However, I'd also bought a pack of B & Q's own 1.5mm line (the blue stuff), so after a very frustrated hour or so (containing maybe 5min strimming), I stripped the original line off and replaced it with B & Q's own. End of problem! I believe the machine itself is a well-made robust product, it's just that the line is a spider's reject. Change the line! (read more)

I have used this Flymo Power Trim 700 twice now for trimming lawn edges at flower beds, flagstones and a brick wall. The results are excellent. You can see the edges while trimming and maintain an accurate edge straight or contoured. I have had difficulty with tight turns but I think a little more experience will help. So far the spool has fed out automatically most of the time. When it did stick it was easy enough to depress the line release and pull the line out manually. I have found the... (read more)

It is very frustrating and not worth the time effort or stress to keep putting the spool on only for 2 seconds later it to break again. It took me 10 mins each time to rectify! (read more)

My brother and I have both got one of these Flymo strimmers and have no problems with them other than they come with the spool loaded with flymo strimmer cord (kept Snapping). Changed to Husgvana cord, all ok now. (read more)

Flymo Power Trim 700 is a dual line feed system; the line is supposed to feed automatically when the strimmer starts. In reality one or both of the lines chop off at the hub within a few seconds of switching on. Removing the feed spool reveals that, for some reason, the nylon is tightening onto the spool and so is unable to be released. Even after loosening, the line just tightens again. Back to Homebase for a refund I'm afraid. (read more)
