“Great App - Best I've used!”

★★★★☆

written by mel1496 on 03/12/2021

This app is really good and well worth the cost for the "app only" version. It has a massive database of foods, accessible via a bar code reader or just a search. Easy to create meals and add them. The weight/BMI tracker is really useful. I contacted them for help on a setting and got an email back within a day. Can't beat it - only minor gripe is the extra cost to use the website as well as the app but I guess that it's expensive to run so understandable.

“Easy to use, helpful calorie counting app”

★★★★☆

written by Stripeyjo on 06/08/2021

I find the Nutracheck app very easy to use. I appreciate the way it remembers my foods and I only need to type a few characters of a food for it to bring up a picture of it. I also use the bar code scanner. It has a huge range of items in its database from all the UK supermarkets. I rarely use the favourites list as it is so quick to search for each food. I like the copy and edit functions to move a food to another day if you have the same thing again. I like the macro trackers and frequently use them to track my salt and fibre intake and I can see which specific foods are higher in, for example, salt, so I can choose to reduce them if necessary. Possible room for improvement : I can't see a way to enter a food and an estimated calorie value without putting weights of ingredients in, if I had something not in the database and want to guess an amount/calorie total. Therefore if I don't know the ingredients and calorie values of something, eg. a homemade meal, it doesn't go in and my day and week totals are incomplete.

“I found that calorie counting has helped me lose the...”

★★★★☆

written by andyleigh11 on 01/08/2021

I found that calorie counting has helped me lose the weight I needed (18kg in 7 months). The app is generally easy to use, with a good library of items. My only criticisms of the library are not enough take away Chinese dishes and the limited number of cask beers, but then again, I have needed to avoid them. The biggest problem I have encountered is that, once I achieved my first target (reaching healthy in the bmi chart- 10kg lost in 3 months) I lost that data, which I am proud of, when setting a new target to be middle of "healthy".

“Excellent app for keeping track on nutrition ”

★★★★☆

written by icHouse196 on 29/07/2021

Very easy to use app that helps to keep track of what you have eaten over the day. It helps you to make the right choices with a five-a-day counter and water consumption. Well worth the years subscription as I would have paid that for a month with a slimming club. Very pleased with the 1stone I have lost in a month. The only thing I’m not so keen on is it adding calories to my allowance for exercise done.

“Nutracheck is really great ”

★★★★☆

written by Lydiaj1951 on 19/07/2021

Nutra check is so helpful and motivating. The amount of information like calories used, target setting and all the nutrients info is brilliant. The food database is the best I have ever seen and used, the work that has gone into this app is amazing. The only thing that confuses me is daily amounts in grams for tracking, I would like it for example if carbs, fats and proteins were tracked like fruit and veg. This is because of how I am showed to track by my dietitian so I get a little confused with the grams and percentages. This is probably just me not knowing how to convert the numbers into portions eaten. This is a truly amazing and helpful app. Losing weight at a great steady rate and the weight is staying off. I would definitely recommend this app to friends.

“Achieving health and happiness”

★★★★☆

written by 460Forbes on 14/07/2021

Over the last 2 years I have followed a portion control, calorie counting diet. I started well, leaving out alcohol to start. I wanted to take a slow approach. After a while I decided I needed help with calorie counting so 10 weeks ago I joined Nutracheck. In that 10 weeks I have lost 1 stone, and several inches and a dress size which now brings me 7lb away from my goal. I find using this App has helped me a great deal and has made me think about what I am eating. So thanks to Nutracheck. I have now lost 7stone 4lb in total.

“Excellent for calorie tracking ”

★★★★☆

written by AishaI on 26/06/2021

This app has been really helpful for my weight loss. I can plan my meals out for a week (or longer) and really take account of how much I’m eating which I didn’t really do before. I’ve found it easy to use and am grateful to not have to think too hard about what I’m doing once I’ve decided for the week. One thing I don’t like is that some foods don’t come up (either Costco items which still count as U.K. as I can buy them, or African food items because I’m not going to stop eating my cultural food when dieting) which I find a bit irritating. Definitely feels like one of those things that tells a fair bit about the diversity behind the scenes. Also you can’t backdate weight without starting all over again which is annoying

“First time user”

★★★★☆

written by AronSchroeder on 19/06/2021

Overall I love this app and even though I'm Irish live in Ireland and it's directed at the uk I still find it extremely useful. All the main big brands are on there but where we loose out are some of the SuperValu brands. In saying that you can still add products and nutritional info so that gets in you over that. The fact it tracks fitness it works with big brand trackers but also your phone which is great if you bring your phone absolutely everywhere - if not like me you can add in steps. Overall I enjoy the app

“3st7lb in 8 months”

★★★★☆

written by SerendipitySue on 23/04/2021

So glad I started with Nutra check. My son installed it on my phone when I started dieting with intermittent fasting and I couldn't have reached the goal I have met without the app. Nutra check helped me to stay on track and eat a normal amount of calories on a daily base. I like how I can enter my own recipes and how I can scan a product. I like the exercise tracker, and also that I can link the app to my Fitbit. There are a lot of products in the memory. Unfortunately for me, as I am from Belgium, it doesn't (yet) recognize many store bought products from Belgium so I have to add them myself. I also like that many products can be entered by weight as well as size. I don't always have a scale with me, so being able to enter a medium sized apple helps. I hope that eventually this will appear for all products. The app isn't very expensive. I usually don't pay for apps but for me, this one is worth it.

“Brilliant app”

★★★★☆

written by Zoeloves2bearhug on 03/04/2021

This is a brilliant app I have found it so helpful and have had lots of help and support from other members and the customer care team. I have only give it 4 stars as it does not have a meal planner on the mobile app, if it did it would have five stars.

“Calorie Counting and Me!”

★★★★☆

written by Hahnlw476 on 21/03/2021

I won't lie, in the past I never considered calorie counting as my mother was always very... Quick to make fun of those who Excercised or dieted. As a result it took me a long LONG time to realise I needed to lose weight. And even then, only by my sister calorie counting, did I decide to start myself. I then learned that even my healthy food options had a limit on how healthy they could be in certain portions. Through this app I learned how many calories certain foods are, not to mention fat content. So I imputed my information, and low and behold, 6 weeks and 5 days since I started, I've officially lost my first stone in weight! I'm still eating the things I love, but I'm changing when I eat them and how much of it. And it's working! By the end of the year I aim to be in the healthy category of weight again, and I'm certain by continuing to use this app, I'll get there.

“Absolutely fantastic app. ”

★★★★☆

written by J9edwards on 19/03/2021

Fantastic app. Easy to use. So easy to keep track of what you are eating as you eat it. Doesn't just show calories but helps you to keep a track of sugars, fats, salt etc. Gives an up to date balance of how many calories left in each day. Makes planning foods for the day so easy. The only slight thing I find awkward is when I have a "saved" meal I would like to be able to keep the original meal, save it as something different (name), change some of the itngredients but keeping some the same. Saving that, giving me two meals that are similar but different. Instead, at the moment I have to set up a completely new meal from scratch. Otherwise no complaints. Love everything else about the app.

“Effective, and easy”

★★★★☆

written by 1992Nicholson on 17/03/2021

This app. has helped me to lose a stone easily, and I have enjoyed doing it and learning more about nutrition.I have high cholesterol and am hoping it will have reduced, due to being able to monitor how much fat I eat.I also had very bad digestive problems daily, and the app has helped me to identify the reason for this and to rectify it.I feel slimmer, more healthy and more aware of what I am actually eating.I have enjoyed trying new recipes, and eating more whole foods and much less processed food.It takes a day or so to get used to the app. but is pretty easy to used once you are familiar with it.

“User friendly diet app”

★★★★☆

written by Sonia67 on 23/02/2021

I like this app. Calorie counting works well for me and many others. No food is prohibited - but some are just sky high in calories, and seeing this helps. App syncs to my fitness tracker and automatically gives me my exercise calories each day - which I can eat or leave as I choose. I really like the fact you can set you own targets or choose a diet that suits you eg increasing fruit/veg, or reducing sat fat. Mostly I like the fact it can be set to follow a 5:2 fasting diet which really works well for me. People on the forums are friendly, supportive and helpful. Only four stars because I think it could be improved with the feedback of a dietician/nutrional expert into the forums.

“Life changing addition.”

★★★★☆

written by on 22/02/2021

Absolutely amazing, the results come so much easier when you can actually see the macronutrients you're putting into your mouth. This app allows you to do just that. Its easy to use and the more you explore it the more it has to offer. It advises you on what you should be eating to achieve your target weight. It offers menus, allows you to create your own menus. The forum is a great place to pick up tips advice and encouragement from other users. This app doesn't make you lose weight but it lights the way. The only "down side" is i won't be able to utilise it when I'm on holiday, but hey you're on holiday. Fantastic 'nutracheck' ❤

“Really helpful app. But would like a tiny bit more!”

★★★★☆

written by Reelvideoman on 05/02/2021

I was diagnosed pre-diabetic last November. I have joined a support programme but found this app which helps me track daily what I am eating and drinking. It has taught me a lot about the best foods for me. I discovered so really nice recipes on their website which I use daily. They are delicious! I have recorded the ingredients into my meals to save time inputting to the calendar - that's really helpful! It is flexible in that you can set goals and record progress. I find it well worth the subscription. BUT! Why oh why havong paid the full annual amount am I not able to access my data on a PC? I can view the data on the phone and ipad which links any input to each device but I can't view on a PC unless I paid a lower level subscription! Come on Nutracheck! Give uis all the support tools! But for this this would have been a 5* review

If i join for a year do I get full access to everything and can I put down any amounts of different foods on my daily counter as some reviews are saying you can only book 5 foods then you have to pay extra to record the remaining days intake?

I have been a member for 2 years now, I subscribe to the App only but I find this suits me. As far as I'm aware I have access to everything that I need, and I can certainly enter as many foods as I need to. If you need a definitive answer then can I suggest you contact Nutracheck direct; they are extremely helpful. When you become a member you will also have access to their forum platform. Although I don't post to this I often read it as I find this is also an excellent source of information. Btw, I've lost over 3 stone and I'm now maintaining my weight and have been doing so for over 6 months now. I can eat and drink whatever I want but have total control as I'm fully aware of my weekly calorie intake and therefore adjust certain meals accordingly. This was the best £29.50 (I think) that I have spent in years.

There is a free trial period and during that time you are limited to how many foods you can add,but once you join and pay then it is limitless. The forums are excellent even if you don't write on them the information you can find is brilliant. I just have the £3.99 a month membership so I can't go on the website but do everything on my mobile. It really works because it is flexible and tailored to you and offers lots of support. I've lost a stone which is what I wanted but am still a member as it helps me maintain. I highly recommend it.

Looking at both options, is the just app good enough? Does it still show you all the photos of food and eating out etc? Thank you

What are your two options? Nutracheck lists (with photos) many ready meals that can be bought in supermarkets as well as individual components if you are going to create a dish yourself. For some restaurant chains it give information about dishes, for example Zizzi Clazone Carne Piccante, but for these there are no photos
