Good Points: Bright 15 inch XGA Screen Fairly light Impressivly quick Great unit for the price
Bad Points: Open latch takes a bit to get used to
General comments: The HP Pavilion ZV5435RS system set-up was extremely painless, and took far less time than I am accustomed to in a PC. The open latch is somewhat inside the top of the screen, not difficult to use, though I am more used to the latch on my old computer being on the outer edge. Back and side USB 2.0 ( 3 in total ). The wireless G networking almost immediately told me there was a wireless network active in range, I don't have one so this was a good sign of range...neighbours closest to me is 40 feet! The touchpad works quite well, and the keypad has a solid "click" to it. The CDRW/DVD Drive is much quieter than my old laptop. Sound quality is excellent, and the display showed now crawl or jitter. Remarkably, this Laptop comes with 32mb of DEDICATED video memory (not shared!) and nVidia GeForce 4 420 GPU, my first experience with NVIDIA, and I'm impressed! The Athalon XP-M Processor seems speedy and solid. This is one "solid" budget laptop! HP Image zone software is fun to use to resize, crop, rotate photos, and create slideshows.
