“Rip Off Company”

I have been fighting Legal & General for over 8 weeks concerning a collapsed drain. As usual happy to take our premiums for the last 2 years but when we need help they find a clause/reason for not paying out.We have not made a insurance claim for over 15 years so am shocked at the treatment we have received. Very poor to non-existence communication from L&G despite numerous emails and phone calls from us. We had to contact them all the time. Building and Content Insurance Would recommend that you avoid this company at all cost. We have had building and content insurance for in excess of 25 years and never made a claim. They were always at the top end for cost (£1400 pa approx) but we felt that was because there was added value in using a reputable firm. We made our only claim a few months ago due to water damage. “Endowment value”

I have just received the payout for my endowment policy of 25 years. I have never missed a payment or even made a late payment. The endowment was meant to payout £2000 + profits because it was a with profits policy. Over the 25 years I paid in £1266 and eventually I received £1282.90. This is £16 more than I paid in. “Find a fire and put your money in it ”

I wish I had read all the reviews before i took out my insurance policy with them, Been with them for 3 years never needed to make a claim till now. Had a bad flood from bathroom into living room. The emergency number sorted out my pipe, but im left with a wet smelly carpet and couch, no lights downstairs and marks on my ceiling. “Terrifyingly awful”

After an undiscovered leak in our water mains system caused damage to our kitchen units, walls and floor we were happy to see that our claim was successful.... Until the work started... We have a 6 month old daughter and our kitchen leads through to our bathroom (old Victorian house). Compassionate's Comment

Disgusting.. my brother had a mains water pipe that leaked behind the units and wetting the walls, the floor joists and damaged all the kitchen units. He has four young children at home and at present their whole kitchen is in the dining room and the lounge - wonderful with two children studying for exams.

Legal and General have said they will replace the units at the bottom but not at the top as that it their policy. I have never seen a house with two different set of units in the kitchen. It would be good advertising for the type of service Legal and General give their customers.
They are so well known and make great profits... now we know how. If you do take a policy out with them, check the small print as they are not a compassionate company.

This happened three weeks ago and still nothing has happened.

I was mowing my front lawn when I hit a stone which flew up and smashed my neighbours front window. I called Legal and General who said 'They didn't think I was covered', I asked to get them to speak to someone who would know to be told they didn't think it was worth it. “Water Damage claim in Kitchen”

Since the 24th July i have struggled with my claim for water damage to the kitchen unit & floor caused by a leak to the water connection under the sink. “Worst of a bad lot”

We have cover for accidental damage to underground services. Our water pipe sprung a leak under the building footprint. All solid concrete floors. Were advised by our own water authority's recommended engineers to re route the supply. This lot say the AD must be visible. not possible as pipe is 1 metre beneath building. Claim refused. “emotional tears and ceiling tears”

I called the emergency help line over 24 hours ago. My bath has sprung a bad leak that is pouring into my kitchen by my electrical fuse box and cooker via the ceiling.
