“L&G worse than being burgled ”

Since being burgled w have waited 5 months for a response to our claim which L&G are now refusing using every excuse in the book to try and deny our claim. Having never made a claim in our lives we are made to feel like criminals for making a genuine claim. Has made the horrible and personal experience of being burgled a 100 times worse. Fantastic avice I phoned at 13.30 to ask a question about if we were insured for a kitchen floor to be lifted as a drainage company we had round to our house to attempt to shift a blockage said they needed to access the drainage via our Kitchen .... took my call and listened intently and suggested having a word with someone who could give me a definitive answer, I was then passed to underwriting...again after listening she suggested before we go to all that trouble we should contact the L&G [… Read Full Review

“Feel like criminals”

Caled today to find out about my claim and been told by female agent WHY IM CALLING ALL THE TIME WE WILL CALL U WHEN UPDATE IS READY. But the fact that after reporting a lost items to them (legal&general) i had been thrown all over as they didnt want to do their job. Hi all.
It another follow up.
So interview went as scheduled, now we have to wait for Ryan direct group to contact EE to confirms a few things.
Very complicated claim it is, which a rather should be straightforward is very complicated.
It over a week today and my claim is still not near settlement.
And that's what I'm paying £30 month.
Only now wondering if a claim won't be accepted to go to ombudsman or directly to court for breach of t&cs by legal and general.
Up to the date have done exactly what legal and general asked me to as well as Ryan direct group.
We gave them all documents they required called all the company's they asked us to call. So we wait.

That's all for now.

Hi all
So I would like to share with u another update.
Rdg called me and informed as there should be no issues with my claim therefore they will forward it back to Legal and General and it will take up to 5 business days to process.
Today 17th April that's 2 weeks since I made a claim and no resolution in place.
Just have to wait and see.
BTW EE were able to provide 2 out of 3 IMEI numbers after almost 2 weeks of asking which was helpful at the end
So we will update u within next few days regarding outcome

“Never pay out!”

Premiums are reasonably competitive, and they try and get you to trade up to their best packages. As a customer or 5 years , the first time I had to claim for a perfectly reasonable leak they pulled every clause out of the bag possible to avoid paying. My advice is go with an insurance company that can be trusted. You're better saving any premium that you would spend on them to put towards whatever problem that you have. Claim for water damage from leaking pipes, after 6 weeks they verbally agreed a settlement, before reneging on this. 4 months later I am still none the wiser as to why. Various subsidiary companies became embroiled in the claim, each equally incompetent. BVS sat on the claim for approx. 6 weeks, ignoring my many emails and questions. “Avoid at all costs”

I've only awarded one star as there is no option to award none. We took out a policy with them through the agency of the Post Office as part of their mortgage package. Our condenser tumble drier leaked causing damage to our floor and they have denied the claim on the basis that the tumble drier was not "plumbed in", even though there is nothing in the policy which says that it has to be. I have had building and content insurance with Legal and General for some time lucky without needing to claim the process was simple enough to obtain insurance but don't consider anything covered! “Rip Off Company”

I have been fighting Legal & General for over 8 weeks concerning a collapsed drain. As usual happy to take our premiums for the last 2 years but when we need help they find a clause/reason for not paying out.We have not made a insurance claim for over 15 years so am shocked at the treatment we have received. Building and Content Insurance Would recommend that you avoid this company at all cost. We have had building and content insurance for in excess of 25 years and never made a claim. They were always at the top end for cost (£1400 pa approx) but we felt that was because there was added value in using a reputable firm. We made our only claim a few months ago due to water damage. “Endowment value”

I have just received the payout for my endowment policy of 25 years. I have never missed a payment or even made a late payment. The endowment was meant to payout £2000 + profits because it was a with profits policy. Over the 25 years I paid in £1266 and eventually I received £1282.90. This is £16 more than I paid in. One of the biggest insurance company's and at time of need they look for anyway to get out of your claim. I wish I had read all the reviews before i took out my insurance policy with them, Been with them for 3 years never needed to make a claim till now. Had a bad flood from bathroom into living room. The emergency number sorted out my pipe, but im left with a wet smelly carpet and couch, no lights downstairs and marks on my ceiling.
