Good Points: Very friendly staff - execution of orders usually very quick and the choices are very varied

Bad Points: Too many options -lack of a demo account for forex trading which would have been a help before opening a live account

General comments: IG Indez is a good simple operation . Both professional and and helpful.Good customer service . I started with 250 pounds - At the start I got burned - but once you get some experience and play careful you should make money .

I have never had a problem with the IG software - but ONLY WHEN I use Firefox 3 - which has MUCH more repid response times and is far more stable than Internet Explorer. It really is worth making the change. Also, IG have always been helpful whenever I have had to call or email with questions. Some comments people make about IG relate to stops not going through at the designated stop price. Well sometimes trades don't exactly close at their stop level, but there are reasons in the underlying mark ...

After attending a Vince Stanzione seminar and see that he used IG Index I decided to leave another company and join IG Index. I like the fact that I can trade all the same markets as Vince Stanzione from fintrader.net does. He trades Rough Rice, Lumber and other markets much many other bookmakers cannot.

Stay away. I had two issues with IG that cost me money on both occassions, they were very polite and acknowledged there was a problem with their system not displaying data correctly, but basically said tough luck. This cost me a few hundred quid, I could never trust them after this with larger sums of money.I think because they're one of the biggest they've developed a "we're never wrong" attitude.

IG Index are the best house for people with cash - they probably dont have much interest in small time, so go elsewhere... only firm that actually picks up the PHONE!

Quick and convenient now that I know how the site works and that I can ignore a lot of the options. At the beginning there were simply too many options. Never had a problem with placing a trade. The Bungee Bets are a nice idea but need improving. Still better to have a wide stop loss on a normal trade.

IG Index is not a company I would recommend if you are serious about on-line spread-betting.

(BAD) Multiple trade closing at the same instance not possible(BAD) The margins or deposits we need to provide are too huge most of the time.

My personal experience of IG index has been poor. I feel that their Customer Service policy is that they acknowledge your concerns but they don't care. There have been a number of occasions where they have adjusted my opening price to my detriment and have not suitable informed me.

They also need to formulate a better margining policy for option trading such as call spreads, put spreads risk reducing trades but are penalised by charging margin on both legs.

Trading platform is nice at IG Index , easy to use and has a decent amount of products to trade. The one thing that bugs me the most is that I can only have one trade close window open at a time. Say I have 2 trades open, I could have one window open ready to close off and then after the screen has accepted my trade and has refreshed (which can take a while sometimes), I must then open the next trade box and close the trade. Normally this isn't too much of an issue so it's a little unfair to whi ...

When I opened an account with IG Index I had very high expectations. Along with City Index, these guys are probably the best known. Having traded full time for approx 6 months with a rival platform, I thought I'd check them out. This is what I think:

    1) JAVA!!! Java has the supposed virtue of platform independence, so it should run on any browser on any operating system. Well, it doesn't quite do that. Having gone through the hassle of updating and verifying my JAVA install, I found that as a ...
