“40+ COMPLETE NOVICE”

Written on: 07/08/2012

This peugeot jetforce is my 1st 2 wheel experience, so i may be a little biased. I bought this bike from a family member for £150, and then had a full service, a repair to the air box, starter motor and new battery then mot, so after having spent another £180, i was hoping for a good experience for my first ped and i wasnt disappointed. Acceleration and general comfort was exceptional, coped well with the big hill that i have to climb to get home without loosing any power at all. fuel economy… Read Full Review

“The closest to perfect you'll get from a 50cc ped!”

Written on: 07/04/2012 by Bradyios (1 review written)

I bought my Peugeot Jetforce 50cc C Tech second hand at Christmas. Drove it all the way home (about 30 miles) down an A road (limit 70mph) and it handled just fine. Initially kick start only as the electric starter wouldn't work but this was fixed with a new battery as it had halfords own in . I did notice it wouldn't accelerate on a morning and would click, but this was fixed with a new clutch, and while the engine was open I also replaced the rollers, belt, and kickstart spring as it was… Read Full Review

Ive just brought a Peugeot jetforce c-tech 50cc 2006 for £600 as im now 16 and want to be on the road. i got it for a great price and the value for money is great. its very reliable and ive had no problems with it so far. I think it looks better then the speed fight and i found out, as my friend has a speedfight 2, that it also has much faster acceleration. having the tank in the middle adds to the stability of the moped but the ped itself is heavier then normal peds which can be trouble when… Read Full Review

I've had my jetforce for just over a year now. in my opinion it is the smartest looking moped out of its rivals, as it has the fuel tank in the middle. it has brilliant acceleration as standard, but i highly recommened you buy a doppler race pipe and lighter rollers (it takes off like a B*****D then!!!). top speed is around 50mph which is fast enough for a 50cc scooter. ride comfort is the best i have experience and it takes corners much better than other mopeds, this is due to the suspension… Read Full Review

The flashing K is the direct injection diagnostic. That is a level 2 diagnostic warning. That one can be can be reset. I own a Jetforce 50 TSDI that has a level 1 diagnostic (the warning lamp stays on) and it means that my ECU is dead. The OEM ECU costs '400 (ouch!) new from Peugeot. I have no choice but to have a dealer replace it. Only they have the diagnostic cartridge. I have been trying to find and buy one for my toolbox, but they are really scarce.
Go to scooter-freaks.nl and look in the English langauge 2-cycle section and you will find some helpful info for the problem you are having.

In the Sales Technical Training provided to the Peugeot Sales division there is an explanation on page 13. It specifically states this:
A LED comes on n the instrument cluster to warn the rider of a fault in the injection system and ignition system electrics.

Fault processing principle.
Three priority levels
1-"serious safety" fault:fault memorized in ECU and LED stays on.
2-"serious"fault:fault memorized in ECU and LED flashes.
2-"minor"fault: fault memorized in the ECU without lighting the warning light.

So if you feel up to it email the Peugeot people again. Seems that they lied to you and didn't bother to check their own literature. Like I said. Don't trust what dealers and headquarter say.
I got the information from the copy at the dealer. You can probably do the same.

Peugeot dealers will tell you many things. If you believe everything they say then perhaps you might be a bit naive. Why do you think Toyota recently got into big trouble with the US government?
If you read the manual or read in the forums where owners pass on useful information you will discover the difference. Actual owners who have read through the Peugeot Shop manual and are aware of the manual ECU blink code (yes...without the Gameboy diagnostic cartridge) know the difference. It is easy for a dealer to accuse someone of lying. They know their statements won't be held accountable. They have an ulterior motive and that is simply $$ or '.

No one can tell you it is a level 2 problem without seeing it and using the diagnostic tool, the faults are listed in categories A, B and C not I, 2 and 3.

You only have one injector which is a fuel injector, if it has failed then no it cannot be reset.

Regards, Peugeot Specialist

Basicly this is from peugeot main dealers i emailed them to ask them what you said and they say your lying READ ABOVE.

this bike is just awesome. i have had it now for 18 months, from brand new. it has performed greatly for me, and is the most comfortable and safest 50cc i have ridden. the peramic frame and fuel tank in the centre gives me that extra angle of turn in those sharp corners. i have derestricted mine by just a race variator and exhaust, and it is the fastest i have seen, got 60 out of it. for learners i would recommend this bike as a starter, as it is relibale, easy and most of all fun to ride. must… Read Full Review

I absolutely HATE my ped, I can't stand it. I'm trying to get a new one now. The engine light constantly flashes, when i went to get it fixed, they charged me £55, and they done nothin apart from change a spark plug and use my fuel up. I went to a proper peugeot dealership and they said they wouldn't touch it, any other dealership don't have the equipment because it's not carbaretta, everything is run by computer. By having no kick start, i have to rely on it starting on battery every time. It… Read Full Review

there shome simpel things you can do to get it ok. i work with jetforse tdsi.1 change the hose from aircommpresor to a type you get cut i a hardvare store ol.it must be a armed nonflexing type ala hydraulik hoses.orginal hoses are bad they get soft.gasolin high presure pump also give problem after 3 -6 1000 km.if you have a multimeter you can take off the pluggs on fuel injector airinjector and chek ther elektrcal resistanse under 3 ohm an thay are elektrik ok not under 1.7 ohm. god luck sorry for poor writing

The term 'looks can be decieving' can be applied to this peugeot jetforce 50 bike as it looks a mean machine, but its performance doesn't match up to it's looks for a number of reasons. The bike does have 5/5 for looks and it is definately one of the safest bikes i've ever ridden, its breaks system is as responsive as a twitch of a finger. In the whole time that I owned this bike my wheels didn't lock once.
The bike was new when I had purchased it so therefore I had to run it in in order to… Read Full Review

I've had the 50cc JetForce CTech since new and have never had any problems at all (touch wood). Starts first time every time, accelerates well, fantastically easy to read and looks great. My Peugeot Jetforce 50cc TDSI has been in the dealers for the last 6 months and I have ridden it for only 2 weeks in all that time.
It has been plauged by electrical problems that the first dealer couldn't even diagnose. The second dealer has solved the problems by trying second-hand parts trial and error method.
Had new voltage regulator, stator and coil to solve the problems but it took 6 months because the importer 3 Cross Motorcycles seem unable or unwilling to provide parts under warranty in… Read Full Review
