This peugeot jetforce is my 1st 2 wheel experience, so i may be a little biased. I bought this bike from a family member for £150, and then had a full service, a repair to the air box, starter motor and new battery then mot, so after having spent another £180, i was hoping for a good experience for my first ped and i wasnt disappointed. Acceleration and general comfort was exceptional, coped well with the big hill that i have to climb to get home without loosing any power at all. fuel... (read more)

I bought my Peugeot Jetforce 50cc C Tech second hand at Christmas. Drove it all the way home (about 30 miles) down an A road (limit 70mph) and it handled just fine. Initially kick start only as the electric starter wouldn't work but this was fixed with a new battery as it had halfords own in . I did notice it wouldn't accelerate on a morning and would click, but this was fixed with a new clutch, and while the engine was open I also replaced the rollers, belt, and kickstart spring as it was... Ive just brought a Peugeot jetforce c-tech 50cc 2006 for £600 as im now 16 and want to be on the road. i got it for a great price and the value for money is great. its very reliable and ive had no problems with it so far. I think it looks better then the speed fight and i found out, as my friend has a speedfight 2, that it also has much faster acceleration. having the tank in the middle adds to the stability of the moped but the ped itself is heavier then normal peds which can be trouble... I've had my jetforce for just over a year now. in my opinion it is the smartest looking moped out of its rivals, as it has the fuel tank in the middle. it has brilliant acceleration as standard, but i highly recommened you buy a doppler race pipe and lighter rollers (it takes off like a B*****D then!!!). top speed is around 50mph which is fast enough for a 50cc scooter. ride comfort is the best i have experience and it takes corners much better than other mopeds, this is due to the... so i cajust take my bike to a dealer and get the to reset it ? and everything will be fine?? and what causes this problem?? can you use the car diagnostic to test it ? or does it need a peugeot scooter one ? many thanks scott.
Written on: 03/06/2010
No one can tell you it is a level 2 problem without seeing it and using the diagnostic tool, the faults are listed in categories A, B and C not I, 2 and 3.

You only have one injector which is a fuel injector, if it has failed then no it cannot be reset.

Peugeot dealers will tell you many things. If you believe everything they say then perhaps you might be a bit naive. Why do you think Toyota recently got into big trouble with the US government?
If you read the manual or read in the forums where owners pass on useful information you will discover the difference. Actual owners who have read through the Peugeot Shop manual and are aware of the manual ECU blink code (yes...without the Gameboy diagnostic cartridge) know the difference. It is easy for a dealer to accuse someone of lying. They know their statements won't be held accountable. They have an ulterior motive and that is simply $$ or '.

In the Sales Technical Training provided to the Peugeot Sales division there is an explanation on page 13. It specifically states this:
A LED comes on n the instrument cluster to warn the rider of a fault in the injection system and ignition system electrics.

Fault processing principle.
Three priority levels
1-"serious safety" fault:fault memorized in ECU and LED stays on.
2-"serious"fault:fault memorized in ECU and LED flashes.
2-"minor"fault: fault memorized in the ECU without lighting the warning light.

So if you feel up to it email the Peugeot people again. Seems that they lied to you and didn't bother to check their own literature. Like I said. Don't trust what dealers and headquarter say.
I got the information from the copy at the dealer. You can probably do the same.

I hate the below:
When she has 4000km I lost the exhaust on the road unexpectedly. They install a new one receiving the guarantee.
At 4800km the battery died and the scooter left me 55km far away from my home.

My JetForce C-Tech 50cc (2006 model) has a kickstart (as well as electric) but just analogue dials on the dash. Derestricted (by dealer before I took delivery) it goes over 50mph on the flat and is very quick off the mark at lights. After 200km the transmission case worked loose and I lost three of the bolts. But the dealer made good the following day. Otherwise great. I had no intention of buying a scooter at this price, but after riding the JetForce C-Tech I just couldn't resist it. The handling is superb and it looks the biz. Like a much more powerful bike in fact. You would never get giggled at on this one. But you pay a price for such performance and super-coolness. The JetForce C-Tech is NOT cheap. Then again, neither are Rolex watches...
Depends on what you're prepared to spend I suppose. A lesser bike would probably have done me.

The flashing K is the direct injection diagnostic. That is a level 2 diagnostic warning. That one can be can be reset. I own a Jetforce 50 TSDI that has a level 1 diagnostic (the warning lamp stays on) and it means that my ECU is dead. The OEM ECU costs '400 (ouch!) new from Peugeot. I have no choice but to have a dealer replace it. Only they have the diagnostic cartridge. I have been trying to find and buy one for my toolbox, but they are really scarce.
