Carjet.com are brokers on the internet who booked us a car with Goldcar in Alicante. While the quote was reasonable it stated quite clearly that it included insurance. However, on arrival Goldcar stated this was incorrect and added on a full insurance charge to the original quote. They were rude and unhelpful. We paid again. Carjet.com's customer service can only be contacted by email (no tel nos) and they fob you off without providing any explanation for the above. Numerous emails result in either no response or a request for more time. So far 6 weeks have elapsed. So take it that the price quoted on this website is not the price you will pay when you collect the car

Have been using Carjet for several years, who as many know act as brokers and place you with a car hire company at the airport. This year prices rocketed (probably not Carjet's fault but who knows!) so opted for a cheaper vehicle than normal. Quality was poor, car was dirty and were charged for a full tank of diesel at 75 euros. We subsequently filled the car to the brim for 46 Euros - what a way to make extra money!! even allowing for a variation on fuel prices at different garages this was ...

carjet.com are brokers who pass you on to obscure Spanish Car Hire companies. Hiring a car was for me a new experience this year therefore I have no experience to draw on. If I do have a need next year I will definitely avoid carjet and have a go with the better known companies. Yes! it will be a litle more expensive but hopefully it will bring peace of mind. The extra cost as a percentage in relation to what is at stake is worth it. Gold Car(Murcia Airport) passed us on to a Company with no Q ...

We arranged our car hire for our holiday with Carjet to collect the vehicle from Budget rent a car at Faro Airport we made specific request for a Opal Marivo type vehicle class D as was clearly stated on our contract paper work supplied.
When we arrived at Faro at 22:30 hrs with two children Budget told us that Carjet were deceiving customers as they know a Marivo is not a class "D" we were offered a Fiat Punto. With four persons and luggage for two weeks holiday the vehicle offered was not suit ...

Don't use this company (Carjet) - you have to realise they are just a broker for obscure Spanish firms - one of which Aurigacrown has cancelled 5000 bookings this summer - apparently they are having financial difficulties. Carjet sent a bulk email to cancel the reservation which went to my junk email box - I therefore didn't find it! Arrived at Plama airport late at night without knowledge of the cancellation and was only able to find a very expensive tiny car for my family including 2 small chi ...

I reserved a car with Carjet in dec 2008 - 340 euros for 17 days, commencing 17 July 09. On the afternoon of the 16th July 2009 I received an email cancelling my booking. Carjet said that Auriga Crown had cancelled 5000 and they had no confidence in them supplying the car. ( I have looked at other sites upon return from holiday, and this was the case in June also, so why didnt carjet contact me then?)

I then had to re book with another firm , Sixt , costing 910 euros - I am very unhappy.

I booked my car hire through Carjet in Feb 09 for our 1wk hol in June 09. It cost me £152.30 for a Megane Scenic or equivalent. I thought this was a good price so booked it. I was aware that I would need to pay for the child seat on arrival but they did not make it clear to me that I would be charged a further £104.78. This charge was for a full tank of petrol (of which we only used a quarter), a child seat, a diesel vehicle (which we didn't request) and an additional driver. ...

If you want to wait for three hours or more in a queue at Malaga Airport to rent a car then book with Carjet who use the Goldstar Hire Company. On last Saturday, the queue went from the Lower Ground Floor right up the ramp to the Ground Floor. Everyone was complaining and many like ourselves just gave up and hired taxis.

We've used the Carjet booking agency regularly since 2000 because it usually finds us the cheapest price. So far, (touch-wood) we've not had any serious problems with any of the actual car-hire companies - and we've used all of them at Alicante & Murcia (except Avis & Hertz who tend to be more expensive). We've only had to change one car and that was done immediately without any fuss - and, they didn't even bother charging us for the fuel we'd already used. They just gave us another full tank (w ...

Carjet gave us quote for 14-day rental in Spain as £210.
The actual charge in Spain was £380, ie.e. almost double that given at booking reservation. They introduce a £75 fuel charge which is wrong since the tank-full on ford focus costs no more than £45 and you can never empty it completely. There is an additional "extra compulsory" insurance and so on.
The car was faulty as it did not have fuel cap.
The complaint on the return did not lead anywhere. Very rude staff.

Carjet hired us a car with Golcar Rental at Malaga airport. Golcar hired us a car with a worn out clutch which failed on the way to our villa. When we rang them they came and towed their car away and left myself and my husband and a 2 year old child with all our cases on the side of a mountain with no car (it was 3pm and 35 degrees)! We were left with no car for over 6 hours and spoken to very poorly. When we returned home we were charged £560 to our credit card and told that we had to pa ...

I have used Carjet on numerous occasions and heve been very pleased with the overall service. However, because some of our trips have only been for a week we have returned the car with more than half a tank of fuel which we have had to pay for.
On our last trip in January I noticed that amongst the things that are not covered by the isurance (glass, mirrors wheels etc) the clutch has now been included. I can understand being responsible for any damage that was caused by myself but issues with cl ...

CarJet has a relatively easy-to-use website, often competitive prices. Can pay on arrival. My comments are specific to Palma de Mallorca airport. You never know which firm you'll get at that end using carjet; some of the firms are so slow that if you are more than 10th in the queue you may be there for over an hour, sometimes longer. They know you are coming, they know your flight etc. but they just plod through the queue taking sometimes 15 minutes to service one customer.
    I've seen people givi ...

I rented a car via Carjet last October (2008). The car (supplied through Solmar) was fine.

However after a couple of days I noticed that Solmar had charged me for 60 litres of fuel and the Ibiza I was given only held 45 litres.

Solmar weren't prepared to do anything when I returned the car and after conversations with Carjet I am unable to get them to even accept this as a problem - they just keep repeating that the petrol price is fixed per litre (which has nothing to with the issue).

    I wo ...

The car was not the one we ordered. The wait for the car at the airport was 1.5hrs. The key got locked in the car and the company continued to tell us daily to await its arrival, which we did. It eventually arrived on our last day! took 11 days! Numerous calls to carjet who were totally unhelpful. Their customer services is a disgrace, when we got home and complained, it has taken them 4 months to tell us it is not their responsibility, and that we should get a refund from our credit card.

The policy of paying for a full tank of fuel at Alicante for a 4 days hire is unacceptable I will go back to hirecarsin spain where I can return full. Costs a little more but even after that I will save approx 30 euros on the overall cost of the rental.

Since then I now use a little company called Econorent through hirecarsinspain.com and they have been great although only at Murcia and Alicante Airport. You can return the car full of fuel and there are always triangles and the correct safety equipment etc.

I don't use them any more - and it is doubtful that I will again in the future, finding dealing direct with the car hire companies gets a significantly better price.Carjet need to shake up their communication with their car hire companies - and check them out as far as car road worthiness and fuel charging goes.

Like other renters who have had to contact there customer services department when you have a grievance you will get as many emails as you want for months on end promising to look into your complaint but nothing will come of it. I hired from Goldcar through Carjet and was stung by the return empty policy they now have. A tank of diesel was nearly as much as the car rental. Beware you will end up at the biggest queue in the airport when you arrive and I can only assume that they are signing lots ...

Carjet needs to monitor how many people it is sending to the same company at the same arrival time at the same airport!! Its not rocket science to monitor!
