I had trouble booking a car, three times, through Holiday Autos Ireland because of not being open after Saturday 1pm so we moved dates and booking from San Sebastian to Pamlona to fit into our travel plans. Eventualy I booked a week early, arrived in Pamplona and was told by ATESA, the actual agency, that they didn't have a car for me as Holiday Autos had cancelled my booking. I then had to book a car with Europcar for twice the amount, no choice. I have tried many times by email to get my booking money back. It's now 5 weeks and counting...lots of incident reports, but no promise or money. Do NOT use them to rent your holiday car, they are UNRELIABLE!

Booked a C5 online with child seats and received online voucher for National Citer within 48 hrs.
On arriving in Nice terminal 1 found the Citer desk straight away, 15 mins to sort details out and then transfer to terminal 2 on airport shuttle to pick up the car. Car was top of the range, almost new, clean and I also had a free upgrade to a turbo diesel.
Checking back in was no problem 10 mins but there did appear to be a long line of people waiting for cars. But I suppose thats nothing unusual ...

If you are thinking of hiring a car from this company and want a child seat, think again. They want $15 PER DAY in Dubai thats a staggering $150 for 10 days or $210 for two weeks.

There are plenty of other car hire providers in Dubai who do not even charge half of this - it is a rip-off simple as that.

I already have a post, but here's a recap - rented from Holiday Autos, brokered to IrishCar, price discrepancy, HA backed me up, car was great, available, and ready to roll on arrival.
I would definately recommend HA, as I'm fully confident in their customer service, and their prices are the best I've ever found.
BTW, be aware of the small print, and CWA when renting, it's a racket, and it's up to you to protect yourself from the unscrupulous local rental agencies, it's not HA's job, it's YOURS! ...

    This is a short story:
I booked on line through a comparison web site; the day after Holiday Autos called me to say the car I had booked was not available and they were going to give me a smaller car for the same price or the same car for a higher price. I said "no way". I had a hot discussion on their way of handling reservations and he offered me the same car for £4 more total. I said "fine", let's do it. The day after, my quote arrives through email, I call to confirm (10p/minute...) an ...

reserved a car (2nd smallest class) with Holiday autos. They had teamed up with Record cars. Took 2 hours to get car the queue was so big. Car was worst I have ever got, 30,000km on the clock, couldn't go over 80km/hr as it would shake, felt really unsafe, was dented, had to take out further insurance at airport with record.
All in all Would never use them again

Holiday Autos are cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Europcar in Faro refused to recognise Holiday Autos as the company, and wanted to charge me for extra insurance and then for an extra day because they did not agree with the days rental agreement with Holiday Autos (and they were rude, inefficient and incompetent as well!).
I had a slighty more epxensive quote from Avis, and now I wish I had gone with Avis, as I usually do on all holidays.
    I will know next time.

Ok, so I'm looking to hire a car through Holiday Autos.
    A heads up to everyone.
In booking the hire, I noticed, in the fine print (I always read it!), that there is an additional "location charge", and "road tax", to be paid locally. Fine (a little sneaky, as it increased the 'displayed cost" considerably), I included these costs, and determined Holiday Autos was still the best value.
    I booked it.
Easy, no problems, instantly received my Voucher via e-mail, all was correct.
    After booking, ...

Have always used Holiday Autos for many years and have found that there have been no extras to pay on collecting the car. Not any more. Hired car from Dublin Airport where their agent is Thrifty. Long queue at airport desk (none at other car hire desks. Told I would have to pay 15 euros a day CDW although I had paid Holiday Autos for this on booking. This would have been 120 euros for the week about half my annual car insurance. The excess was 1100 euros which they said (eventually ) could be cl ...

I have rented with Holiday Autos for years and found everything was always fine so for my honeymoon I thought hey would be the right company to use. How wrong was I? As always I paid for everything up front including insurance. However when I arrived I was told by Europcar that insurance terms had changed and Holiday Autos insurance did not cover me completely. Apprently if I had an accident and anything happend to me I'd be left with no cover. So after a long conversation I agreed to buy the ad ...

Booked and paid for a car to be collected at the airport. All details of the local agent and car etc was confirmed by email prior to holiday. On arrival the local agent had not received any communication from Holiday Autos regarding our booking and had no available cars. We then spent more than an hour trying to find something on spec that we could book. Some 5 weeks later we have yet receive our refund. Avoid using Holiday Autos

Rented a car with National/europcar at Edinburgh Airport, didn't pre book, arrived at the counter, payment was broken down so it was easy to understand, staff were very friendly, they gave us directions and keys to our car, no damage on vehicle, car was in really good condition.

Upon returning our car, we simply parked up, gave the keys to the man in the return office, and we were not charged anything extra.

I would recommend this company to everyone.

I found holidayautos were the least expensive, however at late notice
they were unable to supply a car, I was well informed so there was no suprises on arrival at olbia airport.
They refunded my money promtly and stated that they would further refund any difference if the car that I chose was of similar size.
I have found their customer support satisfactory and they have refunded me
£48 that was the difference in cost. !!!!
    A nice result

My quote from holiday autos showed second driver free. Voucher showed extra cost The customer service agent ignored what I said and copies of docs and was clearly repeating an answer to a related question. Finally he just stopped responding. Very disappointing. I will pursue any claim through the small claims court.

Made reservations via internet and thought we were getting a good price. Made sure to have Master Card Gold and even added coverage to my own exsisting policy, which I carried with me. We arrived and had to sign paperwork. Took shuttle to get car, which was beat and scratched up, all up one side and down the other, took photos before leaving so not to get blamed and the car had over 80,000 on it. Not a car I would expect. If I hadnt been up for over 32 hours I would have time to stand there and ...

Do not go with holiday autos. I have just had a terrible experience with them. Booked a car on Saturday for my holiday at the end of July. After an hour on the phone, the agent retrieved a quote that I had originally been quoted a month before and said that he could still do it at this price. (£700) so I went ahead and booked it. Then when I checked my card statement 2 days later they had taken £150 more than they had originally quoted. This seemed unacceptable as this was not the pr ...

We have used Holiday Autos frequently over the years, but have noticed a worsening of the service they offer. The last 2 times we have been given a smaller car than the one promised. Worse, the company in Tenerife was one of those outfits you have to find (with difficulty) somewhere away from the main car hire desks, and they gave us a truly awful car (an old battered Yaris with over 20,000km on the clock) - the worst I have ever hired. Last weekend we were in Valencia station arguing that the " ...

I booked my recent spanish car hire through holiday autos thinking they were a reputable company and of course they were very competitive. Well all I can say is that sometimes it's worth paying a little extra to book with some of the more established brands. The booking over the internet was all nice and straight forward, I even paid extra for the additional excess cover as you really never know and the last thing you want is a holiday spoilt by a £1000 excess. All was good until we arrive ...

Holiday autos are no cheaper than anyone else. Our experience was, wrong directions to the desk at the airport and it took us a while to find them tucked away, Holiday autos use local car hire firms as their agents and these may be variable, depending. There was a huge queue to get the car (though it had all been arranged on-line months before) and we were all in the same boat. It took two and a half hours to get the keys to the car, then we could not find the car in the car park so had to go ba ...

Extremely disappointed by Holiday Autos. We booked the hire car through the Holiday Autos website about two months before going to stay in Spain for a week. They got our business because they seemed the most competitively priced but my advice is don't be fooled. We arrived at Malaga airport and after collecting the baggage made our way to the car hire area to pick up the keys. We were dismayed that the queue wound its way right up the slope into the arrivals hall. Undaunted we assumed it was the ...
