We hired a car with holidays autos in July .At arrival at airport this was with Firefly. After 3 days the car broke down and we were left stranded . The hire company wanted us to travel 2 1/2 hours back to airport for replacement at a cost of £250 taxi. We were told this would be refunded on our return. We declined and were without transport the rest of holiday. “terrible experience - avoid at all costs!”

Booked & paid for a car in Crete for 2 weeks months before we travelled - we arrived at the car rental office to find a huge queue & chaos - the company did not have cars for the customers that had booked with them. “Terrible service, extortionate behaviour, the worst! AVOID”

I booked with Holiday Autos, who subcontract to local rental companies, in my case this was with Firefly. My Holiday Autos reservation was to pick up a vehicle on 15th August at 2.00pm, and we arrived at the rental pickup desk at 2.15pm after clearing passport control. “Credit card nonsense”

Recently had a car booked for kefalonia at on OK price. Wife secured deposit on her credit card. I was named as lead driver and upon arrival to europcar, tried to pay the balance of 180 and cover the damage excess with my wife's card again. But now they wanted a card in my name, if which I didn't have. They wouldn't accept the payment, wouldn't let us change the name of lead driver and just said it happens often and nothing can be done. “Completely unresponsive to customer complaints”

I booked a car at Venice Airport with Firefly, via Holiday Auto's and was 2 and a half hours delayed on pickup. When I arrived I was told that my booking had been cancelled. They had not and still have not sent any communication explaining this decision to me. There were no cars available as they had been let to other people. “My husband and I planned a vacation to Frankfurt...”

My husband and I planned a vacation to Frankfurt Germany and of course needed a rental car. We did some research and found that Holiday Autos had a great low rare and immediately booked. We made a payment to hold the reservation (and because the site showed a surcharge by paying at the counter). The charges came out of my husband's account yet we kept getting emails stating that the bank declined the payments. “Difficult to work with!”

We booked 2 autos online from the USA for an England trip. When we got there, the autos were actually through Eurocar. The lady "helping us" at the 10 Hempsted Lane location in Gloucester was no help at all. We had been charged extra insurance, as well as other issues, but since it was booked online, she said she couldn't change anything. I ordered and paid for a rental through holiday autos. The car company was Sicily by car. Our pickup time was 630 pm but due to a train delay, no fault of our own, we got into Venice 3 hours late. We booked a car with Holiday Autos as it was listed as 0.8kil from the rialway When we rang to check delivery times it was 12 kilometres from the pickup point. Rentis had never had an office in Krakow. We then had to py extra to get our car delivered asor go by taxi equaly as expensive. “Ripped me off.”

I paid premium rate expecting an immaculate VW Golf, and got a tatty Kia Rio with the air conditioning stuck on recirculate, a £20 surcharge for collecting at Airport , and forced to pay £47 for insurance as I did not have £1400 on my credit card, I - I only learned about the £20 and £47 after paying the full rental cost to Holiday Autos, and of course Eurocar blamed Holiday Autos. “existent customer service”

I used HolidayAutos in the past and they were fine in that there was never a reason to contact them with a complaint. However, I have rented through them last week and they used Thrifty/Dollar who provided a car that was simply not fit for purpose. I tried to resolve this with Thrifty/Dollar, but there was no manager to speak to (!!!), and they basically told me to cancel the booking if I didn't want the car, something that would have left me high and dry. “Charged twice for one booking”

Having booked a car through Holidayautos for collection at LGW from Enterprise, payment at time of collection, everything went well until we returned home to France and received our credit card bill. The charge from Entrrprise appeared on it correctly, together with another charge from "Cartrawler" for the same amount of the car hire, which was very confusing. “Incorrect listing information and unapproved charges”

At the end of June I hired a car through Holiday Autos for my holiday in Portugal, collecting from Faro Airport. The car hire was with UDrive who I then found out were called both Multi Auto & International Car when I arrived at Faro Airport. The lady I dealt with in Faro was incredibly rude and unfriendly. “Dreadful service”

I hired a car through Holiday Autos and paid extra for insurance. On picking up the car I was told that a credit card was needed to take extra insurance. I assured them that we had the extra cover and showed documents but was still charged extra. I had booked an Adam but they don't even have one in their fleet! “Deliberately misleading website”

Having booked a car with Holiday Autos on the understanding through the FAQs section of their website that I could cancel with full refund as long as it was more than 24 hours prior to pick-up I was shocked to discover that I would be charged a 46 Euro admin cost, as detailed in the very small print on their T&Cs page. “Car crash waiting to happen....”

Hired a car for a recent trip to Portugal, and all seemed well…then we arrive at the check in desk to collect the car, and are presented with a bill / deposits on my card for fuel (understandably, desk admin (apparently in case we lost the toll tag, etc) vehicle licence fee (who knows), and were assured by the attendant that as long as we return the car full of fuel, with tag etc that all would be returned. “Terrible. DO NOT USE!”

My recent experience with Holidayautos was terrible. I booked and prepaid for two cars for a recent family holiday to Spain. On arrival at the Enterprise desk I was informed that they only had a record of one booking. The other booking had been cancelled a month previously by someone at HolidayAutos.
