I used HolidayAutos in the past and they were fine in that there was never a reason to contact them with a complaint. However, I have rented through them last week and they used Thrifty/Dollar who provided a car that was simply not fit for purpose. I tried to resolve this with Thrifty/Dollar, but there was no manager to speak to (!!!), and they basically told me to cancel the booking if I didn't want the car, something that would have left me high and dry. “Charged twice for one booking”

Having booked a car through Holidayautos for collection at LGW from Enterprise, payment at time of collection, everything went well until we returned home to France and received our credit card bill. The charge from Entrrprise appeared on it correctly, together with another charge from "Cartrawler" for the same amount of the car hire, which was very confusing. “Incorrect listing information and unapproved charges”

At the end of June I hired a car through Holiday Autos for my holiday in Portugal, collecting from Faro Airport. The car hire was with UDrive who I then found out were called both Multi Auto & International Car when I arrived at Faro Airport. The lady I dealt with in Faro was incredibly rude and unfriendly. “Dreadful service”

I hired a car through Holiday Autos and paid extra for insurance. On picking up the car I was told that a credit card was needed to take extra insurance. I assured them that we had the extra cover and showed documents but was still charged extra. I had booked an Adam but they don't even have one in their fleet! “Deliberately misleading website”

Having booked a car with Holiday Autos on the understanding through the FAQs section of their website that I could cancel with full refund as long as it was more than 24 hours prior to pick-up I was shocked to discover that I would be charged a 46 Euro admin cost, as detailed in the very small print on their T&Cs page. “Car crash waiting to happen....”

Hired a car for a recent trip to Portugal, and all seemed well…then we arrive at the check in desk to collect the car, and are presented with a bill / deposits on my card for fuel (understandably, desk admin (apparently in case we lost the toll tag, etc) vehicle licence fee (who knows), and were assured by the attendant that as long as we return the car full of fuel, with tag etc that all would be returned. “Terrible. DO NOT USE!”

My recent experience with Holidayautos was terrible. I booked and prepaid for two cars for a recent family holiday to Spain. On arrival at the Enterprise desk I was informed that they only had a record of one booking. The other booking had been cancelled a month previously by someone at HolidayAutos. I have got a very bad experience as booked a car via Holiday Autos but no car was available on the day of booking. I made a complaint to the company and ask for a reason for why the booking got dishonored and that totally ruin my vacation plan. “Misleading Sales unprofessional”

Hired a car for a w/end in Edinburgh. When booking from the website despite the site clearly mentioned that drivers has to be 25 years old and over there was no clear notification that mentioned your driving license has to be at least 2 years old before booking. “extra insurance paid for, but had to pay again!”

booked the car through holiday autos but the car was from Drivela. We paid for the the extra insurance to holiday autos and they stated we didnt need any further insurance. When we picked the car up at Alicante we were told that it didnt cover things such as towing if we broke down and the the right tyres etc etc. We were bullied into paying another £100 for the insuranace. “Dreadful experience ”

Rented a car through these guys While at the rental counter, interesting with their rental agent my purse was stolen with credit cards, drivers license and passport. Obviously even once the police report etc was handled I could not rent the car as I had no proof of identity. “No benefit”

This isn't a rental but just a reservation with a rental company. Causes more problems than benefit which was none. The insurance is for the deductible only. Still required to get insurance with the rental company. Will not use again… Read Full Review

When I arrived at Zurich airport with my confirmed booking voucher I was told by Alamo that they had no booking under this reference. I put Holiday Autos helpdesk in touch with Alamo - on roaming on own expenses! - but it did not help as Alamo maintained they did not recognise the booking and had no available car anyway (high season). I was perfectly happy with my actual car hire, which was East Coast Car Hire in Sydney, Australia. But I booked it through Holiday Autos, who gave me completely erroneous information about getting from the airport to the car hire company, claiming East Coast didn't have a shuttle bus from Sydney's Domestic Terminal and that instead I should switch to a more expensive car hire company. “un service client minable”

Nous avions choisi holiday auto pour leur tarif ... quelle a notre erreur! Puisque 3 mois plus tard nous recevons une contravention comme quoi nous n'avons pas payé notre amende ... We rented a car in Feb through Holiday Autos before our holiday in Lanzarote. They allocated us Orlando car hire based at the airport, and I paid for a Renault Clio. “DO NOT HIRE VIA THIS COMPANY”

I booked a car to be collected from an airport in Warsaw. When I arrived the desk was closed. I called the number on the desk to be told they didn't have any information about my booking. I had no choice but to pay three times the booking cost and hire the last car that Avis had. It was now dark at the airport. “Fraudulent practices, stay away”

This company is the worst. I booked a car with them for travel to Mallorca. At the airport, the vendor, Goldcars, flatly refused to rent a car to me, claiming that they don't honor US driving licenses. My license is perfectly legal everywhere in the EU, it's an unlawful and discriminatory requirement.
