I bought my first Mitac Mio 168 PDA in January 2005 as it seemed to be a perfect combination of Satnav that could run preferred software and updatable maps, with palmtop computer for work or leisure. After four months the display locked up with a blob of water inside the screen. I started contacting Mitac to arrange repair and in the meantime bought another as the first had been so useful.
After three months use the second broke - its power connector internally while being disconnected from the charger unit, (the bits can be seen moving around if you look through the slot). I am now trying to get two items repaired with so far no sign of success. In the meantime I am using a map book and a large diary for notes. It may not be as convenient or as easy to use but at least it is reliable longer lasting and cheaper to replace.
