We wasn't expecting 5 stars when we arrived which was a Good job really, home from home this is not,it was very basic And wasn't very well cleaned, and the rat traps hidden behind Cupboards only confirmed this!!the kids enjoyed the swimming pool But the lifeguards sitting there on the mobiles Didn't fill me with much hope if something happened to a child One thing I won't complain about is the stripey coats and nightly Entertainment, they did a excellent job in entertain myself and family (read more)

i stayed at sandy glade last week and i absolutely loved it. the room had no problems, didn't smell and was next to the pub, so i had wifi all the time. the entertainment staff: Lauren, Katy and Aaron was the best people for the job. they was just the right people to entertain everyone. even though foxy time was for the children me and my family enjoyed freddy tell us about killing a crab because it bit him on the bum. it is close to weston and burnam on sea so you always had something to... Visited Sandy Glades last week for a 4 night stay with my husband, 2 daughters 6 and 12 and my husbands grandson 5.After reading the very poor reviews i was actually dreading it and went loaded with anti bac wipes and bleach ! Arrived to find very friendly staff on reception and to be told we had a free upgrade from a 2 bed chalet to 3 bed . As we opened the patio doors we breathed a sigh of relief it was very clean ( not the ritz but what do you expect for £139 for 5). the staff were very... (read more)

We stayed in a gold star chalet and to be honest, i thought it was great and very up to date. By judging by what people are saying on here... you simply get what you pay for! This was the first time i had been to the site and we have had such a grand time, we'll be going back again next year no doubt. There are not many things on site as far as adult entertainment goes, but if you have small children, they will love it. I thought the staff were great and an all round very friendly. As far as... We have just returned from 4 days at the Sandy Glade park. We booked through the Sun holiday tokens. Unfortunately, there was no way of upgrading the accomodation on the booking form as this would have made our holiday so much better. We went out every day as early as possible and came back as late as possible as the chalet we stayed in was so depressing. The bathroom was covered in mould, the carpets were grimy and the bedrooms had awful white curtains which unless we had used the duvet... (read more)

Arrived to a chalet with tiles hanging off and a broken toilet seat,
absolutely no excuse for expecting people to tolerate old dilapidated damp chalets in this day and age,
also dogs are allowed in every caravan and chalet so it is no wonder that the bedroom smelt the way it did.
on the subject of dogs the one next door to us was locked in the chalet and constantly barked,
we reported this to staff but nothing was done-we just drove home 2 days early in the end,
there are decent refurbished... (read more)

Just back from a 4 day break at Sandy Glade. Have to say I was concerned after reading the reviews. What a pleasant surprise. The accomodation and bed linen were clean and the staff were very friendly. True, there is not much to do on the site but if you want to visit local attractions, you don't have far to travel. We stayed in two gold chalets and we were not disappointed. The pool is clean and well kept. Entertainment was good especially for the kids (under 5s) bearing in mind most are... (read more)

Just got home from sandy glade well what can i say if we had not paid 600 pound for a week i would of come home after one night.
The accomadation was awful too small and not enough drop down curbs for disabled people.
The entertainment was rubbish apart from the last night the staff was friendly but will not be going back there again. (read more)

I vissted Sandy Glade June 2010. My family & I had a 6-8 berth Chalet. My last visit was 20 years go and nothing has changed. Shabby accommodation, needed updating. Toilet not very clean I scrubbed this myself. Shower was awful no room. Chalet too small, furniture & carpet grubby. I will not be returning. (read more)

We visited as 2 mature couples, for a relaxing long weekend without the children. The 'chalet' we were given was like something from the 70s - fake wood panelled walls, split plastic seating, crunchy (and very hairy) brown, dirty carpet, large but basic and grimy bathroom. Absolutely dreadful. I have NEVER stayed anywhere as grim and depressing.
The clubroom smells like a stale ashtray and has kids running around everywhere (the parents seemed happy to let them do their own thing - there... (read more)

i own a caravan at sandy glade and have been going for the past 12 years. I always have a good time as we have friends down so its always good. And so do the kids and they love it too. The site is also well looked after, and there is a large indoor heated pool, and club with entertainment every night on the site. If anyone was looking to go down i would recomend it, but i do realise the site prices are expensive. However, if you take a drive down there, most people rent out their holiday... (read more)

stayed on Sandy Glade Holiday Park from 15 august -22nd august 2009. the park itself was very quiet. luckily for the kids theres a fun park 10 minutes walk up the road. the pool was a hit with the kids although very basic. the changing rooms were a couple of huts right next to the pool. watch your kids in here as when we stayed the lifegaurd was to busy stood outside smoking or sat reading a mag rather than keeping an eye. food resonably priced, but shut very early. i cant understand why... Stayed at Sandy Glade Holiday Park one night with family, during my time there I can honestly say I felt sorry for the rest of the family for paying over £700 for a weeks holiday. The accommodation was dated and I felt that I had seen better on such tv shows such as faulty towers and films such as carry on abroad.
The decor was dated and there was a bad case of damp in one of the bedrooms. The accomodation was clean but needed updating. The TV was small and heard to see from a distance... (read more)

Very laid back compared to some hoseasons sites we have stayed on with far too many rules and regulations. Staff friendly, good size pool.
The cafe is reasonably priced and the shop staff were friendly.
Nice 5 minute walk to beach and and dunes.
The kids enjoyed the foxy club.
Some smaller chalets are very cramped though so go for the larger ones and pay the extra as its well worth it. (read more)

Great bubbly friendly staff all the stripeys rock!!!
Better with the new owners, they did a lot for me, answered all my questions the best they could and always put a smile on my face.
The guy in the shop was friendly and always had a smile on his face which was good.
Seeing the stripeys made me want to become one my self in 2 years time because they were so enthusiastic and hanging round with them they sort of encouraged me.
Greatest holiday thanks all!!

Don't use the on site shop, it's expensive and the staff were rude to my daughter because she got to the counter and realised she did not have enough money for something. We went to Haven holidays in Poole in September and that was much nicer, cleaner and friendlier. Don't waste your money here, it's not worth it. (read more)
