i purchased a bt500v in october 2007 it worked ok for about a year then the ear piece fell apart, jabra were very good they sent me a replacement (a bt5020) which was fine for just under a year them the speaker stopped working. i contacted jabra but they say that although this was a new unit the warranty had run out, it only aplies to the original unit, so beware. i don't think i will purchase a jabra ever again.

I do not like or recommend the Jabra bt500v as it was difficult to set up and had VERY POOR reception, claimed to be up to 10 mtrs but you were lucky to get 2mtrs, even took it back and changed it as I thought it was faulty, the 2nd one was just as bad.

The Jabra BT500 is a great device for use in a relatively quiet environment. It's comfortable to wear (once you get used to the ear gel!) and is very secure on your head. As with most headsets, it's microphone leaves a lot to be desired. Jabra needs to add a noise-suppression technology it'll be 10/10.

I like it, but apparently it does not work well for those who I am talking to.Comfortable and easy to use. Good clear reception.

In my opinion the Jabra BT500 is not worth it!

My wife complains that she hears more of background noise than she does me... most times I have to raise/yell so she can hear me in my car and I drive a very nice & quiet Volvo. I like the design just am disappointed in the quality of the headset. Am in the process of searching for another headset.

Purchased this from Verizon store for over $100 just over month ago. Have had nothing but trouble with this device. Very unreliable and appears to be intolerant of fluorescent lighting, some cordless phones and microwave ovens.

After 6 months the battery now fails to charge. The charging socket is very flimsy and so designed that you can easily put the charging adaptor in the wrong way round, which eventually corrupts the socket. Jabra even have to put a diagram on a label to show you which way it should go as it's that easy to get it wrong. My Jabra BT500 bluetooth headset has given up the ghost after 6 months, and it now fails to charge. Sound quality is sometimes questionable, and use in the car is restricted to slo ...

Having used a Jabra 250 every day for 12 month's it eventually fell apart so I purchased the BT500, big mistake, I drive for a living and never had a complaint when using the Jabra 250, but now all I get from my customers and family is" please close the window" or "turn off the cars fan" this occurs when neither are being used/open, the background noise is, according to my friends, very intrusive. They have all asked me to return to the original headset (Jabra 250).

I bought my wife the Jabra BT250 bluetooth headset. I didn't feel I needed one, but she was so happy with hers, that she convinced me I'd love it. When I went to buy it, the BT500 was available, so I got it. It felt great and secure. I especially liked that I didn't look as if I should be on the deck of the starship enterprise. The only bad thing is that it repeatedly dis-paired from my Treo 650. It sometimes took 8 or 10 attempts to re-pair it. In the end I returned it for the Motorola H700.
