Good Points: Sturdy (you can drop it!), buttons easy to use (for large fingers), feels solid, above average audio quality, excellent range, almost no white noise, good battery life, similar operations as mobile phone, receives text messages.

Bad Points: Directory names too short, insufficient warning for low battery.

General comments: Once the directory update procedure is learnt for the Panasonic KX-TCD 505ES DECT Cordless Phone, entering new names and numbers is relatively simple.
Audio output is clear enough and loud enough, but audio input only works well if the speaker holds the phone closer than 3ft.
Directory memory accepts no more than 16 characters for each name.
Wandering about the house and garden (of about 1/4 of an acre) produced very liitle white noise, or signal loss. If line-of-sight is through two or more brick walls, signal is lost at about 100ft.
This is probably the best cordless phone we have purchased to date.
