My son applied for a post graduate student loan from Barclays to cover his costs for his MSc course (Oct 2009 -2010) in May this year. He has been trying to get an answer from them ever since. They would not let him apply until half way through the summer as they were revising procedures, but he applied as soon as he could. Since then he has been supplying them with more and more details for money laundering etc etc etc - its now 16th of November and he started his course at the beginning of October. He was told he had been approved for the loan some time ago - but they just needed more details. He has now got behind with his rent and could not make a rent payment at his bank because he had not got the loan - and today he's been told that he won't get the loan as he's had a charge against a payemt he could not make. i.e. the rent payment - which was their fault!! We are furious!! He's been told to apply elsewhere. This after all those months and when he is well into his course. How can they do that? Don't they know what they've done to him?!!!!!

Banks have been over charging for years and now there are companies out there that help everyday people deal with banks.

For the everyday person on the street its an uphill task but if you use a company like "UK Bank Complaint Forum" they will go after the banks on your behalf and charge you a mere 10% only on retrieved funds.

I do not work for them or have any affiliation with them, I just signed up myself today and think more people should be aware of what's rightfully theirs. ...

Unfair bank charges, rude staff, computerised phone operators, call centres on another continent. All these things which make you see red. Now the UK Bank Complaint Forum is a place where you can voice your opinion. Each major high street bank has it's own section with topic statistics, so the worst ones will show up for what they are. The only restrictions are 1) No staff members should be named, and 2) Any post should be factual. Otherwise anything goes within the bounds of decency.
