Good Points: Reliable Service, speed does not drop at peak hours. Reasonable Cost.

Bad Points: Customer Service has improved significantly over the last year and the call centres are based in the UK. However it can still be challenging to find someone who can help you without the need to "re-dial and choose option 3, not 4"

General comments: I've been with Bulldog for 5 years now and although there are some better companies out there (for example BE), I would strongly recommend them. I am paying for 8Mbps and I am actually getting 7.9 and 8.2Mbps constantly, without worrying about peak time caps. Some of the reviews on the site have been submitted on purpose and this is obvious. Do your research but don't forget that most of us tend to write a review only if they we are not happy with the service.

Well Bulldog are now no longer accepting new connections or moving current customers if they move house (as with Pipex the are being wound down by Tisali) as far as I am aware. I spent 2 hours on the phone today being given the runaround by their and Pipex and ultimately Tiscali's staff in my opinion. Finally after managing to get hold of a competent member of staff I have been informed that if you have to move house during your contact period you will have to cancel your contract. He also said ...

I have been with Bulldog last 2 years and I frequently encountered that I can't go online especially it seems at "busy time" such as late evening. Then soon I realised I was charged extra because my monthly download limit (1G) was exceeded however I have never been warned despite they promised in the contract that they would send two notification e-mail when the limit is nearly exceeded and after the limit is exceeded. This happened twice recently so I decided to say good-bye to Bulldog. I spok ...

I do not recommend bulldog broadband. This is the worst broadband provier I have so far personally experienced. I had issues with bills, they overcharged me twice as far as I am concerned, then when I talked to their customer services I personally found it very difficult to resolve my issues, I was overcharged for months as far as I am concered, I tried to cancel my contract was directed to three different departments. I was held on the phone for 30 min as far as I am aware, (not a free number) ...

Bulldog internet worked at the start then they just changed there DNS setting without informing me as far as I am aware, hence no internet.. Then they took money out of my account without me being aware of it as far as I am concerned.

When they tried to connect me, as far as I am aware they cut my phone line off and connected it to someone else. Never got it sorted out! Dont get Bulldog Broadband, for me they have been very unreliable!

Good service, but very expensive indeed. Technical Support staff were difficult to understand on the telephone which made sorting problems more of a pain then the internet problem itself. I am very upset at their customer services as it has been over 12 months since I left them as an ISP and they still have not given me my 1 month payment that they owe me, and therefore I have written to TV's Watchdog in case this may be an issue for other users too.

I got this a few years ago when they were advertising "no contract" deals for 8Mb, I was on 2Mb until they upgraded my local exchange, the whole transfer from the previous (BT broadband line) to theirs was messed up for a while, but as this happened while I was on holiday it didn't bother me a bit. Support used to be impossible to get through but now they don't have people rushing to join it's much better, you need to jump through a few hoops to get to second line but that is the same for every ...

I will never use bulldog services! And I recommend you don't either. I applied to bulldog broadband and phone line, and waited for 2 months to be connected. Before I applied the account they promised me many times that there would be no connection fee. However as far as I am aware I was charged 99 pounds connection fee without any explanation. I called the customer services and was told they can't yet refund the money, so I felt I had to write a letter to the complaint department. The custo ...

I have had exactly the same experience as below. Was told exactly when my installation would be, what time and it all was done in less than two weeks. I received my modem three days after I picked up the phone!Oh and my installation didn't cost me £99.99 it cost me £1. I was with bulldog a few years ago when were really poor so moved to BT, but BT's "fair usage" policy was driving me up the wall. Everyday, after 5pm the internet speed would halve and more often than not I would get d ...

I was with them for only a short time - reliability was very poor - and connecting to the internet was difficult. A number of times I tried to ring up their customer services department and they were very unhelpful. Often when I rang they would leave me on hold permanently as they new that I wanted to leave the service. The whole thing felt very very unprofessional.

Generally I like it, within last eight months since I've been with them no problems whatsoever. And now, few points: 1. Reliability. Installation date was confirmed by post and over the phone, on the top that I was given a time slot of eng attendance, which was 0800-1000. Eng knocked to my door exactly at 08:15. Service was up and running within minutes. 2. Experience with Customer Service Desk - very helpful staff, superb communication. What was also very important - i was given full nam ...

I've been using bulldog for around 2 1/2 years, their customer service has always been terrible, but as I rarely had to call them, I was happy with a decent priced 8Meg line until I noticed that their prices had dropped from £29.50 to £19.50. After calling them (an experience in itself) I decided to upgrade to a 16Mb line for the lower price of £24 - "this may take up to 10 working days sir" fine. So I waited.....and waited... 2 months in total and several phone calls later ...

I am another user here who is planning on leaving Bulldog asap. I will call them tomorrow for my MAC address. Horrendous support, with airhead technicians or people who just want to "blame BT" when the fault is clearly theirs. The actual product is poor. My connection drops, in 12 hour cycles per day, every 2-4 minutes. In a month, I've had 2,500 drops AT LEAST (number taken from router logs). I do not recommend this company, there are much better ones out there who don't treat you like rubbish ...

Floored cancellation procedures. We moved out at the end of May. It's October and they're still claiming money from my account, saying I made a call at the end of August. I cancelled before we moved out and have hassled them ever since, but get told something different each time. Really poor customer service, with contradicting information being given out by advisor's who refuse to allow you to speak to a manager, complaints department. So frustrating!

Don't join this company whatever you do. They are so desperate for your money and they have not even earnt it. Asking me for £500 without an explanation as to why you owe them that amount. I left them in April 2007 and by Aug 2007 wrote me letters saying I owed them £444 still scavenging for money from me. £444 is how much they wanted in Aug and now trying to take me through a debt collector agency. Even though when I rang them up in Sept 2007 they said it was there mis ...

Do not go for Bulldog. We had BT before this, and even though the speed was less, it was more reliable and really justified the price. Bulldog is simply overpriced and for what? Dropped connections? Poor customer service? Go with another company, I'm looking towards Be.

Bulldog cancelled my direct debit twice without telling me then sent me threatening letters to cut me off and demanded over three months payment in full. It took me five phone calls to get someone to agree to cancel my account they then didn't cancel it and we got letters from a debt collection agency. They answered my complaint letters with undated unapologetic letters just telling me to pay my bill in full with no goodwill gestures for any of the problems and stress they had caused me. I first got bulldog because my cousin got it. My friend told me not to touch it but I did not listen. That was one of the worst mistake of my life. It took almost a month to get the line set up. Then I had no internet for 2 weeks. After that the phone line would drop once in a while. To add to my misery, I could not access any uk websites for some reason. Bulldog blamed microsoft and told me that I should talk to microsoft. I asked them if I could speak to a proper technical person but the perso ...
