    General comments: Swinton insurance ripped off due to failed direct debit. The last months payment of £17.31 was returned due to insufficient funds, they tried to get the payment again 3 days later which was also returned not paid. I received letter from Swinton informing me a charge of £12 would be added to my next direct debit of £17.31, phoned Swinton and paid the failed payment and the £12 charge, I asked the women who works for Swinton so you wont try charging me £12 twice because you tried to take money out of bank twice will you she assured me I would only be charged £12 once and next months payment would be for£17.31only. Well I received a letter today from my bank informing me that Swinton had tried to take £29.31 and due to insufficient funds the payment was returned and the bank was charging me £39. again for a failed direct debit, I phoned up Swinton to ask why they had tried to take £29.31 instead of £17.31 the guy then went on to inform me that because they tried to take money out twice last month they were charging me an additional £12, I then went on to tell him that when I phoned up to pay last months failed direct debit plus the £12 they told me I would only be charged £12 once and the next direct debit payment would be for £17.31 he said he would phone that department to see what had happened and he would phone me later, he then rang me to say they never said that and the charges stand, so the top and bottom of it is I have had to pay 2 payments of £39 to the bank 2 payments of £12 to Swinton and a further payment of £12 for this months failed direct debit all because some woman who works for Swinton who should know what she is talking about obviously doesn't.
