After taking out LV's offer of cheaper cover and having my car insured with them, it looked like a good deal.
On claiming ( for 1 a burglary and 2 accidental damage)it was clear that the turn down your claim as a matter of course, they offer delaying tactics they invent twist and manipulate information.
It has been my worst ever decision to go for cheaper cover my case is now with the Ombudsman buyer beware!

I have used Liverpool Victoria Home Insurance for a number of years, one claim in 14 years. I cannot complain on their service and I always find their quote competitive when comparing on a like for like basis.

Call centre in UK, only positive comment to make, staff are rude crude
passing insinuations constantly changing goal posts, acknowledge they changed terms without communicating this.
This review site I should have used prior to accepting the Liverpool Victoria Home Insurance offer as they approached me!! I now know better.

I had building and cintents insurance and had a problem with my conservatory roof as three panels had blown out one was damaged but the other two where fine. Homeserve the recommended company came to my house and stated no problem getting the polycarb [they said ]. Next week they arrived with the new three panels that i admit looked the same until they where put in place and they looked like dark chocolate campare with milk chocolate? Away they went with the three panels 4 days later they arrive ...

I have an income protection policy with Liverpool Victoria and have paid my premiums in good faith for many years. I then needed to claim following a spinal injury and could no longer work in my insured occupation. I have had a turbulent time with this insurance company. Eventually LV have terminated my legitimate insurance claim and employed some unethical means to do so, for example, bias Dr's and tampered evidence. I've provided many medical papers and specialist opinions favourable to my cla ...

Claim to be cheap - which they are in both senses! You get what you pay for and when I attempted to make a claim for water leakage in my bathroom I got absolutely nowhere. The problem is that they did not make it clear enough that I was not covered for 'Trace & Access' which means that if the plumber has to pull off half your tiles in order to expose the offending leak they will not pay for the repair to the wall afterwards. It seems obvious to me that this should be made clear by any insurance ...

The Customer Service is poor. Their guidance when you contact them is shambolic. The Contractors they have used in my case have been awful. The complaints system, though promising in theory, is yet to help my case.
General comments: IN STEPPING OUT OF MY BATH I had the misfortune to slip, but good thing by grabbing the toilet it stopped my fall, being 69 could have been nasty, this resulted in a cracked cistern, being Royal Doulton no longer available, I set to about to find replacement quoted a ...

I had a claim in 2007, which was poorly handled, the contractors were not good enough. In January 2008 the remedies applied in 2006 came home to roost and more and extensive work was necessary to correct the flood damage and the ineffective repairs in 2007. An independant and reputable builder was employed by me to fix the problem and photos/reports and surveys were conducted and handed to LV re the Guarantee of works policy. That was January 2008. After 2 letters and 8 telephone calls I made a ...

Having worked at Liverpool Victoria for many years I had the uptmost faith in them and insured my home with them over and over for year. I've had to make 3 claims in the past 5/6 years. The 1st time was when LV ran the show properly, but since then they reshuffled the deck chairs, had initiatives after initiative, and have reorganised their General Insurance business.

My subsequent 2 claims have had to go through their subcontractors. Both times I've had to prompt their subcontractors time and ...

We have been with Liverpool Victoria for a good few years, it is only in the last 3 years we have had to call on them, and they have been first class, very fast responce, and very good staff, can't complain.

I think I know why they are the cheapest! I'm not anticipating problem-free claims. They fouled up my application, resulting in lots of correspondence and waiting. I found one sincere lady tried to help me but was stymied herself by accounts dept!

In my opinion, Liverpool Victoria provided me with a poor service, poor value for money, and I felt the staff member in the claim department who dealt with me was rude. We are currently claiming for a clean water flood in our house, which happened in August. We are still trying to resolve the problem of replacing the kitchen units. Liverool Victoria, in my experience have been unhelpful, and at times rude and difficult to deal with.

DON'T GET INSURED WITH THEM. They do not follow though . Are very poor with communication and always look for a way out of your claim. Keep moving the goal post. Cheap till you have to make a claim. Then your left with a struggle.

A construction company have flooded my house whilst constructing the A590 bypass. They have admitted partial liability and advised me to put the claim with my insurers. Liverpool Victoria Home Insurance have been awful, and a detailed complaint is now with the Financial Ombudsman. You only know how good an insurance company is when you come to claim.

I had a flood at my property in November. Liverpool Victoria came out and then I heard nothing. After numerous phone calls a firm came out to dry the floor (chem dry who were a good company) this was in January two months after the flood happened. They had only been instructed at the beginning of January. I was appointed someone to do the repairs they are a disaster. They have forgotten to order the flooring . After many angry phone calls they have ordered it today. Now they can not find a work ...

I guess you get what you pay for. I made a claim for accidental damage to my bath. No problem with being covered but it's impossible to get them to do anything. It is one month since I made the claim which has proceeded very little since then. Every time I phone, I get promises of various actions within 24 hours and for somebody to call me back. Of course the agreed actions are not done, nobody ever calls back and there is no record of the previous call or what was said.

    If you want anyth ...

I made a claim with Liverpool Victoria home insurance in September 2006 for accidental damage to my bath. I have been told I'm not covered for accidental damage (which I am). Then I was told I am, but they are saying it's wear and tear. I was told to go and shower at a neighbours if the bath was unusable. It's now January, and I am still waiting for a decision. I have made several calls to company, and I am always told someone will ring back. It is very rare this happens, and I have to ring them ...

I made an insurance claim for fixing my roof, and I was told that nothing would be done because it was maintenance. I have just recently remortgaged my house and had a survey done which found nothing.
