On 1st March I needed to claim due to a leak that had caused wet rot and full damage to our bathroom. The staff at the Perth Office were very informative, understanding and professional ( the worst weather in Perth today) . A cash settlement was agreed and made at the point of this telephone call which I am more than pleased with. Many many thanks to the wonderful staff.

“Consistently surprising me”

I suppose it's bad to think that i excpected to not have such an easy time with my claim. However in the last 3 years i have lost some very expensive In ear monitors costing £900 replaced on my contents insurance and my mobile replaced on the tech pack. Both times were so quick, call staff where helpful and fantastic. And i got my phone back in 2 days. it was totally smashed (s7 Edge so tricky screen to fix) and they did it fantastically. Repair centre definitely deserves a shout out. Very happy customer of 12 years

“Execellent Service”

I had a burglary on 13 Feb 2016,my wife's jewellery and approx £1500 were stolen. I had my content insurance with Barclays. I put my claim in the very next day and was expecting to go through another daunting experience after my burglary. However, I was so pleased to see the whole process proceed so smoothly and quickly that to not leave a review would have been an injustice to Barclays Home Insurance. The total time consumed in settling the claim over the phone was less then an hour and half. On 12th of March, 2016, 28 days later my whole claim was settled to my complete satisfaction. I was only covered for £500 cash at home, which was sent to me in 3 days. I should not have had that much cash at home anyway, my fault. Was very pleased with the whole process. Though very upset with the invasion of my privacy, but the ease with which the claim was settled offsetted my anger to a certain extent. Thank you Barclays, Definitely recommend Barclays for Home Insurance.

Christmas Storm destroyed a 40ft tree in our back garden which fell on my workshop. Managed to get a tree surgeon on Christmas eve, Barclays authorised £500 to have a safe fix done straight away and have paid for all the damage/replacement workshop

Just arrived home after a stay in hospital to find 6 ridge tiles on the lawn dislodged during the night after a violent storm. Rang Barclsys insurance who immediately authorised up to £500 to get the job fixed. Grabbed a roofer looking for work and asked him to do the job straight away. Job done and money from Barclays in my account within 4 days.... Brilliant - Peter

“Amazing price and service”

1st time I have had to claim on home insurance in 10 years, and I have been blown away by the ease and professionalism of the service. A leak caused damage to flooring, and needed identifying as under the floor). A phoned Barclays, a claim was lodged and I was advised to get a plumber to identify the problem and costs will be covered. They would also send a surveyor out to check the damage to the floor. He arrived, measured up, and offered a settlement for the floor there and then that would be with me in a cheque within a few days. AMAZING! He also gave me all of his contact points for sending on the bills for the plumber and any repairs/tiling that is needed to fix the issue. Whilst the claim is not yet concluded, I have to say that this service is a refreshing change to the horror story's that you read. Well done Barclays, very impressed.

“I cannot recommend Barclays home insurance enough!”

I changed my insurance provider when I became a Barclays customer in 2011. I have been very happy with them as a banking customer and I was suitably impressed with the price of their home insurance so I swapped providers. In September 2012 I upgraded to an iphone 5 on my phone tariff and the first thing I did was investigate insurance for the phone. I was made aware that I could add my phone to my home insurance for a really small extra cost which I was more than happy with! I have been lucky not to have needed to claim until in January 2013 I sadly lost my new phone. I phoned Barclays insurance on the day I lost it (a Saturday, so I was very pleasantly surprised to get through to anyone!) I spoke to somebody called Kimberley Murray who couldn't have been more helpful! Obviously I was distressed at losing the phone but she was able to reassure me and take me through the claims process having never done this before! It was all very straightforward and rather than having to speak to a number of different people or an automated service, Kimberley gave me a direct line no. for her so I was able to contact her through to week in order to be updated! I had to send her a few documents to show proof of purchase but I was incredibly surprised when she rang me on the Friday - only 6 days after I made the initial claim - and she told me that the cost of a replacement would be transferred to my bank account! The money was in my account by the Monday (minus the £75 excess, a small price to pay for a £500+ phone!), only 9 days after losing my phone and making the claim! I cannot recommend this insurance provider more!! Well done Barclays - you have one very happy customer! :)

“I claimed a few years back for Escape of Water and...”

I claimed a few years back for Escape of Water and needed carpets replacing. I'd expect service from Barclays to be OK - but the from the person that handled my claim (based in a UK office) to the person they sent to assess my claim (round within 48 hours), I was massively impressed with the the way the dealt with me. All finished in a couple of weeks. I thought insurers wewre supposed to wriggle out of claims like this - not to say I'm a fan of banks in general, but have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

“I have Barclays home insurance and have had it for 3...”

I have Barclays home insurance and have had it for 3 years. I have never had to claim until recently, I claimed for my corner sofa which was torn accidentally. I phoned them about the claim and within a few days they sent Rainbow Restorers who said they were unable to restore the leather. They sent a report back to Barclays who then phoned me and asked for me to obtain quotes for a replacement which I did. I sent them on the Tuesday and on the Thursday they rang me and agreed it and paid me direct into my account. All in all this took under 3 weeks from start to finish, my quote was higher than the price I paid as I went by todays prices. No quibble on price, I am totally impressed having dealt with poor companies before. I can only give this review based on my own experience and would recommend them highly.
