Web based - appeared straightforward at time of booking. Costly 0871 numbers for reporting existing medical condition and much costly menu listening. Confusion about the right number for contacting Atlas rather than Core or Dogtag (whatever they might be). I wouldn't dream of using Atlas again because of the difficulty I had in contacting them...and having to pay premium rate for the pleasure of what I felt was disappointing service.

They utilise highly expensive 0871 numbers for health screening regarding existing medical conditions. Long messages. Long periods on hold whilst CHECKING DETAILS!!! (More than once!!!)I emailed them for advice regarding a heart attack and pending surgery scheduled for two months time, hoping to go on holiday for a couple of weeks whilst waiting. SURGEON had informed me that I would be OK as medication was well controlling my condition. They replied requesting me to call an 0871 number and obt ...

I took out an annual multi-trip policy with Atlas Travel.
My girlfriend had her bag stolen on the second day of our two week holiday in Calella, Costa Brava. In the bag was €100, our hotel keys and various other items of value, including a new purse, sunglasses and some clothing.
We had to make two visits to the police station by taxi to report the crime.
This was my girlfriend's first holiday without her parents. Her grandparents had bought her some of the things that were stolen as pre ...

Do not even think about insurance from www.atlas-club.com.au because although you'll pay them, you'll not actually get any coverage.

Insurance with Atlas Travel is pointless. Should you need to claim, forget it. They drag out the procedure in the hope you will go away. If you persist you must be prepared to give up normal life whilst you deal with them. They counter every letter with nonsensical requirements trying to wear you down. I have had insurance with them over many years without claim, but they just won't pay out. My advice? Save your money.

Be aware that Atlas Travel Insurance will charge you £1.00 to post documents out, and a further £1.00 if you pay by credit or debit card.
I don't know how else you would pay your premium over the net other than by card!!

I unfortunately had to cancel my holiday due to the sudden death of my dear Mum. I sent Atlas Travel Insurance all necessary documents, tickets and death certificate. They lost the invoice. Then even though the Dr filled out a medical certificate, I was later asked to get a letter from him. This meant he had to send for her records again. This caused me a lot of heartache. I contacted the Ombudsman and I beleive this is why my claim is now settled.
