My wife and I got a Woolwich residential mortgage 3 weeks ago. We applied for buy to let on our existing house and they asked for more evidence. We sent it but for the past two weeks have not heard from them. What should we do?

Well, they've already left a footprint on your credit history, so you kind of have no choice but keep chasing them up for final decision. If your're doing it through the broker, a broker has to be chased to chase them. I wouldn't personally waste my time with Woolwich but if you already started it, chase them. We got our mortgage with Halifax in 2 weeks after being turned down by Woolwich for no reason. Good luck.

I am just awaiting a formal mortgage offer but probably don't need the full amount. Do I need to take the full amount or not? If I don't take the full amount could I take more at a later date if I need it. It is a buy to let mortgage. Thanks.

I have a Woolwich interest only mortgage in my name and my ex wife's. They will not take her name off the mortgage unless I start a new one with a much higher rate of interest. What should I do?

We have a broker and application entered onto system with all documents on 26th June at that time turnaround was told 5 days - now it has risen to 8. The reason we are so anxious is that we were turned down by two lenders and it is now 10 weeks. This one looks hopeful as we are putting a 20% deposit down but it just seems that it takes so long and weekends nobody does anything which to me is odd when there are so many people waiting and now potentially we could lose the house we so desperately want. I believe the broker is doing everything she can to chase and advising completion date is 23rd of this month. Please advise in this age of new technology why it has to take so long with little customer service to advise you? It just seems your application is left in a pile somewhere and (next) is called and thank god that will be our one.
