    Good Points: None

Bad Points: Slow in processing, do not keep you updated, and incompetent

    General comments:
Cheltenham & Gloucester Mortgages are a waste of space. If your looking for a company that will give you complete customer satisfaction then do not use C&G. They are incompetent and should be reported to the FSA, as they do not treat people fairly. They are extreamly slow in processing matters, and if they want any further information from you they wont ring you until weeks have passed and its then when you ring to find out whats going on and they then decide to tell you that they require further information from you. They are also quick in taking your fees off you and then do not bother keeping you updated on the matters. I will never use this company for a mortgage again, i would have pull out now but it would mean paying for all the fees again.

I took out a mortgage with them back in 2004 on the advice of my bank (Lloyds), who suggested a remortgage from Abbey to get a slightly lower interest rate, and to consolidate other debts such as credit card bills.

This proved to be one of the worst financial recommendations I've ever been given. First off, Cheltenham & Gloucester proved themselves to be useless, taking nearly three months from the date of my first mortgage offer to completion (on a house I was already living in, so no chain) ...

I took out a repayment mortgage with Cheltenham & Gloucester and I have had no problems. In fact I am surprised by this as I always thought that mortgages where nightmares.
When I went to see them they asked how much I wanted to borrow and then asked how much I could afford to pay back each month, along with a few other calculations they where able to tailor a package which suited me and by doing this exceed any expectations I had.
They suggested that instead of a traditional 25 year mortgag ...
