“Worst company ”

Having had an accident (non fault) back in 2011, the claim is still in dispute some 2 1/2 years later. My solicitor is in the process of issuing the claim in court. I have been contacted on several occasions demanding for the £3,000 excess. Having read through the T&C's, I am not liable to pay unless I have been held at fault. “Worst Way of handling Customers and Money”

I had an accident few months before. After 4 long months i was send a letter saying; you need to pay your 3000 Pounds excess. With out informing me about the outcome of what they have paid and not willing to furnish the details; they simply gave me a letter saying pay your 3K with in 14 days or legal action will commence. “Xs direct- totally rubbish company”

I paid £965 and £3,000 excess for a year of my 5.0 jaguar and now swop to a 1.5 disels car. They charge me £700 for cancellation or if I change the policy to the new car no refund & the excess still £3,000.how ridiculous!!!!… Read Full Review

“Never insure with them ”

I had an accident over a year ago and I am still waiting for payment for my car. They made me an offer which i refused as it was nothing compared to what my car was worth. I sent them backing information of what price similar cars are going for, not once but twice. “Terrible experience with XS Direct”

I've had an insurance policy with express insurance underwitten by XSdirect for less than 50 days. I've had to move to australia due to personal reasons and not longer require the insurance. I was amazed to find that they were going to refund me less than £650 out of a £1600 pound policy! They are based in the republic of ireland and can only be contacted by email. “PROVIDENT INSURANCE ARE THE WORST COMPANY AROUND”

I have made a claim over 10 months ago and STILL have received NO payment!!! they have made no attempt to contact me although promising me they will, I have made thousands of Phone calls and there staff are like talking to a tumble dryer spinning you round and then throwing you out with nothing, i have just about managed to get a settlement figure although its bin three weeks i have received NO MONEY PROVIDENT INSURANCE ARE THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY EVER DO NOT USE!!!!!! My car insurance is with M&S but provident are the actual insurance people. I dealt with them after having my crash in Janaury. “whiplash scam”

Well this experience is this worse I have ever had. I first insured my corsa for £481. I then added my Cleo to the policy. After afew months I sold my Cleo and called them to remove the Cleo from the policy. I made it clear to the guy on the phone that I wanted to keep my corsa insured. He said it's fine and told me my new monthly payments. I just got stopped by the police who told me that I have no insurance. They cancelled my whole policy with out telling me. However, this changed a week later when they made a mistake & had told the body repair garage that I was not insured so to stop work on my car. DO NOT GO WITH ANY INSURER USING XS DIRECT AS THEIR UNDERWRITER- COMPLETE BREACH OF CONTRACT, THEY WILL CANCEL YOUR INSURANCE 2 MONTHS BEFORE THE END DATE AND FIND WAYS OF BLAMING YOU FOR BREACHING THE CONTRACT. i have just had my car stolen an M3 convertible i am insured with Insure your motor and the underwriters are XS Direct, my car is worth over £33,000 i have reported it to the police and an agency called CMA the claims specialists contacted me on behalf of XS DIRECT saying they handle the claim on their behalf and i am about to send them all the documents they require!! i am very worried after reading this post is there anything i can do to protect myself or make sure i get my money back...any advice or help will be much appreciated

Appalling customer service, I feel like I have done all the work for them in getting my claim settled. I have had to chase for everything, everyone you speak to tells you something different and I have been lied to on numerous occasions. I'm sure i would still be waiting now if i had left it up to them to contact me. They just can't be bothered and have no interest in helping you. Absolutely shoddy experience from Provident when I had an accident that clearly was not my fault - as confirmed by Police that attended and many witnesses.

Distinct lack of customer service. Emails from weeks ago remain unanswered. Not received any updates in writing either or any callbacks. Full of excuses and basically I don't call them anymore as I feel I don't get anywhere when I do. The accident has left me still upset and distressed and Provident just keep adding to it.

Sounds like our experience. No feedback, no information even when requested. Don't respond or acknowledge correspondence. Haven't heard from them since September 2012. Accident was in May 2012. Paid for our own repairs and now received a letter from a legal firm, don't know why and we still don't know what the Third Party is claiming.

Very worrying to get a legal letter when you don't know why.

Just an update on the situation. Passed the above mentioned letter to Provident and asked them to deal with it. surprisingly they called today to advise that we were being sued for for a 3-figure sum.They didn't think it important enough to mention to use, then! Surely, we should have heard about that BEFORE the solicitor's letter arrived. Seems awfully expensive for a paint job.

However, subsequently they have exhibited unproffesional and unfriendly telephone manner, not gone out of thier way to call us, on sending them emails they have never replied and only on sending a fax did anything seem to get the ball rolling.
