I had an accident in May and this has only just recently been resolved. My car was parked outside my house when a driver crashed into the back of it. I was originally dealing with Yes Car who arranged for the car to be picked up I was then told that Provident Car Insurance where my insurers and they would be handling the rest of the claim, this is when things started to go drastically wrong. I heard absolutely nothing from them for days, in the end I had to find out where my car had been taken ...

    Have just left Provident because:

They erroneously recorded that my car had been in a fault accident in the North when in fact I had evidence that it was parked in hospital 60 miles from the scene of the alleged accident. Took many calls and letters to resolve. Eventually had an apology but never an explanation.

    They have now

I thought Provident were very friendly and helpful. I had an accident involving my car rolling down a hill into another. At the beginning the person was trying to go out of insurance, but they drastically changed his mind. Everything was a bit dodgy, and after telling provident they agreed with my concerns and started looking at every detail very carefully. And even before the claim went through I rang them to ask where I stood and advice, etc, and they were very very helpful!

To replace my Focus like for like will cost me in the region of £2,700. Provident have just offered me £1,700. Season of goodwill too! Have just received this awful offer three days before Christmas :-( I will never use Provident again.

When i phoned to report an accident the person who answered was extremely friendly and helpful, I was on a mobile and they offered to call me back immediately and they did within seconds of hanging up, as well as doing there job they can have a chat with you at the same time, so the whole call has a friendly atmosphere, they do their at most best to assist in anyway they can, and will check anything i asked them to.

Would never recommend Provident. Have claimed previously with Elephant.co.uk and the experience with them was smooth and hassle free. We will be going back to them shortly. Just because the quote comes in cheap isn't a good reason to go with a company - in future I will look for reviews first!

This company is terrible, they charge extreme prices for young drivers and then refuse to assist with a claim against another driver if you have third party insurance. Their customer service is poor and each representative tells you something different. When making a claim, they seem more concerned with your age and occupation then the actual damage to your vehicle. I would never go with this company again and would advise others to steer clear.

Customer service is amazing! Totally helpful! As a brand new driver (just passed my test - wahooo) my quote was fantastic. It was the cheapest out of the lot. Good work!!

I signed up to Provident car insurance through "QuoteLine Direct", and I have had absolutely no problems. I have not claimed on the policy, and whenever I phone to change something or enquire about something, the team are always very helpful and willing to help. I accept the other reviews, but it possibly depends on which broker you go through or whether you go direct.

Provident car insurance seems to penalise young drivers, but yet continues to accept them as customers. When it comes to paying up they will find any way they can to get out of it.

I will never get insurance with Provident again!

Someone reversed into my parked car on Christmas Day. It wasn't my fault. I am claiming off the other party's insurance, and I am now advised I could have a hire vehicle. Although now I been advised that I am under 21 and I cannot have a hire vehicle. I was told to ring the local hire companies and that I could get insurance transferred to a hire vehicle at no cost to me. I have rung back with details, and I am now unable to do this.
