    I was recommended by Blue circle {who are fantastic and could not be more heplful} I have spoken to a few people at your call centre and I feel that they have been primed to say only a few thing I sorry your policy does not cover that or I sorry we dont cover that or thats not my problem you cant buy a car a car from a forcourt you policy does not cover that or I sorry you cant have a curtesy car if yours has has burnt out your policy does not cover that no you cant claim for a sat nav your policy does not cover that. We can only offer you a small amount for your car because your policy only covers you for market value and if you can't find a car like your old one then we can't get you a simelar one (you guessed it } because your policy does not cover that. Since a bought my car 5years ago I have paid £220 a month to cover me by law to find that my policy does not cover that! Also a please or thank you would not go amiss if you have just lost your car it would be helpful if someone would say I am here to help and your policy does cover that! I am a person who does not loose her temper very quickly but I told one off your girls on the phone the other day your company was rubbish I still stand by that I have been driving since I was 17 and am now 53 I have never claimed since I started driving.

    Fortis Insurance - the most incompetent insurance company I've ever been insured with in 30 years!
    Had accident in January 2009, Fortis stil haven't paid, I go hit in the rear accident not even my fault!
    The same incompetent representative who's been dealing with my claim, has attempted to deal with my complaint - who are these people plain clothes police - regulating themselves!

    Off to the Ombudsman we go...........

    Fortis Insurance LimitedFortis Motor Guard EDIMy mother-in-law sold her car and enquired about any refund for the 4 months still left on the Fortis policy. £80 was due but a £50 admin fee would be charged and they don't issue checks for less than £50 so she gets nothing coming back.

    I was promised a refund of premium by Fortis car insurance on changing my car to one in a lower group rating. It had not arrived after two months. I wrote a reminder letter on 6th august which has not had a reply yet. I won't be renewing with them. The level of service is disgusting compared with Churchill.

    Did not contact me to clear my car of personnel items prior to scrapping the vehicle after vehicle was written off by them. Also the time spent chasing them to settle claim. This company are the underwriters for M&S insurance, I would not recommend M&S or Fortis to supply any car insurance

    After a nightmarish 8 week long process with another insurance company dealing with a claim for which I was not responsible, I thought carefully about who to take out insurance with next. Fortis, I am pleased to say, offer a superb service. The level of cover is excellent, and I have just unfortunately had to make a claim due to an accident which was my fault.     Overall, Fortis car insurance wasn't a bad price to say when I was 18 I bought a 51 plate. I had no no claims, and it was around £800 for annual car insurance. The following year, even with 1 years no claims didn't bring it down much.

    I am currently in the throes of making a claim through Fortis car insurance for a recent accident in which I was involved. The fault of the accident was largely my own, I regret to say, but Fortis have been very helpful to date. As a 31 year old with a previously claim-free history and a cheap runaround, perhaps my experience wouldn't be typical for all, but that aside I can recommend them so far on the quality of service.
