    I have had a very bad experience with LV. Had an accident in August this year, car went into the back of me while I was stationary and shunted me into car in front, mine was the only one damaged. Guy who hit me was peculiar to say the least, we called the police as he was not co-operative. LV were pretty unpleasant to me at first, suggested it was my fault, finally accepted it couldn't possibly have been my fault as I was stationary, have also had witness report from another driver. LV ignored 2 email complaints and a letter, eventually got a response after threatening to write to their chief executive! Car has been fixed but haven't had excess back, guy who hit me has refused to accept liabilty so his insurance company won't pay up. Have now had renewal quote, 20% higher due to 'ongoing claim'. I think LV have handled this very badly, and have just told me I may have to appear in court! I also think they've delayed it till after my renewal so that I can't get a better quote elsewhere, as I have an 'outstanding claim' hanging over me. Will never use them again.

    I had no problems with car cover,but since taking out contents cover after they offered me cheaper cover to change, it was at cost of their not honouring cover.
    I have put case to Ombudsman as so shabby treament offererd by LV constantly changing goal posts blatant lies and invetion.
    Car cover now changed saving over £100 on premium for ore/better cover.

    took out isurance with Liverpool Victoria Car Insurance over a week ago, theyve taken the money havent sent us anything in the post or via email. cant seem to get through for the last two days no matter what i try.
    im never fear theyve gone out of business and lost my £300.

    Beware Liverpool Victoria Car Insurance under values cars when written off, also would not give a courtesy car as i only asked for courtesy car, not temporary courtsey car.I have been riped off by this company for over £1000, so take care when insuring with this company.

    Had car insurence since 2004 with Liverpool Victoria, automatic renewal quote exceded website quote by over £120. There was no information in paperwork with auto renewal to indicate that LV were not giving their best quote or that customer should check the quote for best price.

    Reading the above reviews this seems to be a reoccuring problem with LV!

    my wife had a car accident nearly six weeks ago- wrote a letter and report to LV that they did not acknowledge- we had to ring- lost recorded delivery letter- try to suggest it was my wifes fault as left rear impact to other car- despite us providing comprehensive diagram- showing other vehicle went onto other side of the road to negotiate a tight junction.
    Worst experience we have ever had with a car insurance company- cheap but poor when you have a claim!

    been with Liverpool Victoria Car Insurance for quite a few years and have just renewed with them online, saving myself nearly £100 compared to their postal quote. Their website can be a bit tricky when used via a cashback site so if anything strange turns up, use the free phone number provided; staff are very helpful indeed.

    Been with Liverpool Victoria (LV) for some years now and decided to get an online quote. I could not get a like for like policy as there is no facility to input 'any driver over 25 yrs' so I had to settle for the maximum 4 named drivers. Although no one but myself has driven my car in the past 2 yrs, I much prefer to pay a little extra to cover anyone in the family. Insurance firms need to look at this problem.

    Car was written off by Liverpool Victoria. Except they decided the figure they were going to offer was going to be the settlement fee. When i questioned how did they derive the cars value, was first told, via the internet. checked the sites they were quoting, all prices seemed incorrect. Provided evidence the car was undervalued this time told they use the glass guide. L.V moves the goal post as it chooses.

    Good price on both my motor and household policies and also very helpful staff and efficient service.
    No fuss or trouble at all when had to claim on my household policy.

    I have just had my first accident claim in 37 years of driving - I found the clams staff very helpful and everything went really smoothly in respect of getting the car sorted out - I live in the Chester area and opted to use their recommended repairer - Lookers on the Deeside Industrial Park.

    I have been with Liverpool Victoria for many years and have had to make 2 claims. One was for an accident in Germany which they dealt with very professionally. The second was for a stolen motorcycle which they made an error with by Taking the excess off twice. They rectified the error straight away. The best part is the UK call centre which answers straight away. There is never a fuss when I change vehicles. They are cheap for me but I am 50. They may not be such good value for younger dr ...

    We have had a very bad experience with Liverpool Victoria Car Insurance and it is continuing. Their attitude towards customers needs imporvement. When you insure with a company you have to have confidence that your property is secure and covered by the insurance you take out, after our recent experience with Liverpool Victoria we are far from happy that this is the case.

    I recently had a crash and my car went into the garage provided naturally by my insurance company StoneAcre (October 25th), however once I received my car back after the fix there was a major problem with the steering.     Cheaper than all other quotes I found, and I looked and lots of companies and also the comparison sites such as moneysupermarket and confused.com.
    Liverpool Victoria were the cheapest of what I looked at.
    The website it easy to use too, where you can easily update car details etc without having to enter all your other details again.
    I'd recommend this to anyone.

    Liverpool Victoria are now disappointingly bad for car insurance. I have been with them for 17 years and have always auto renewed, never really looking at my monthly payments - until now. I have been paying £640 a year fully comp, for a 10 year old Rover. I have recently changed to a company that offers EXACTLY the same cover for £270 a year.

    If you want cheap car insurance, I would recommend Liverpool Victoria, just watch your bank dealings.

    I would recommend them. All staff I dealt with had a pleasant manner. They were very helpful and reassuring when I was making a claim, and Liverpool Victoria car insurance kept me informed of progress. I was never left for long periods on the phone, and I felt confident in them.

    Overall, I would give them an excellent rating, and I would definitely recommend them to others. They offer a good service, and there are no forms to complete, and a replacement car is provided. The only downside is that there is no choice of repairer in my area, but Liverpool Victoria Car Insurance offer a good value service.
