“Hiding Behind the Data Protection Act”

This company says the Data Protection Act prevents them from disclosing what the other driver's statement in relationship to the claim. That is if you wish to challenge LV's policy of 50/50 without consulting the insured then you cannot. The Data Protection Act concerns private data that is held on a person, not a statement concerning a road traffic accident.This company also tries to renew a policy automatically, issuing the treat of cancelation fees. “NIGHTMARE experience making a claim”

Our battered old car was stolen. From the moment we contacted LV to claim we were treated as if we were trying to defraud them somehow even though the police soon confirmed the details of our claim and the claim itself was for a small amount. It is clear that their attitude is systemic - the people we dealt with at LV were not bad apples but were following company procedures. Having just booked my car insurance online I realised I hadn't found out how to add my kids on as temporary drivers when they visit. I phoned in and had a proper pleasant helpful friendly conversation with the woman who took my call. You don't often get that genuine conversation feel in such calls! “Lose My Money Every Month”

I have been battling with LV Insurance for several months as I had to change to a budget account from direct debit. First of all I was given the wrong account details and they lost two payments by giving my money to someone else and they had to find it and write it off. In April they told me a different number, refused to allow me to make a payment over the phone and again lost my money. I complained each time in writing and was assured it would not happen again. I changed last year from direct debit and paid off the rest of year last year as we don't have a monthly wage but money is paid every two weeks. From renewal I have been on a budget account and making payments through the bank online faster payment service. The company gets the money that same day but LV are in the stone age taking over five days to add to my account. Being the innocent 3rd party in an accident involving an LV customer, the company offered to repair my vehicle and supply a courtesy. All was well and good until my car was declared a write off. Within 4 days of this (with no warning from LV) My hire car had to be returned to the vendor, even though I had not accepted any payment for my written off car. I moved to LV insurance approximately 6 years ago largely due to best price. Unfortunately shortly after the transition I skidded on black ice resulting in a claim. 5 years on I had a further incident ie a no blame accident and both claims have been dealt with to date very efficiently although the 2nd claim is not yet finalised (awaiting liability admission from other party). God awful experience with LV, had an accident which was deemed my fault, car taken to authorised Jeep dealer. LV took nearly 4 weeks to approve work and that was only because I complained. I am a third party who was involved in a accident with one of LV's customers from the minute i phoned my whole experience has been a nightmare!!! My car was collected and had to arrange the hire car myself which in replace of an Audi A4 i was given a Toyota Yaris after loads of complaining i was put in to a Vauxhall Astra estate which still is not a like for like for my Audi. I waited online for over 5 minutes, which is a lifetime hanging on the phone. Then i got a message saying lines were now closed for a fire drill. The mind boggles that a major insurer does not have contingency plans for emergencies, let alone practise drills.
