Have visited the Szechuan Cheng Du restaurant in Buckingham before over many years but was very disappointed with the service received at our most recent visit. The staff seemed harassed and surly. The mixed hors d'oeuvres starter, which we had ordered many times before had shrunk in size compared to previously and thus, we felt was overpriced at £14.00 for two people. I went to Szechuan Chengdu, based on previous reviews. Kind of sceptical at first. It has a half star rating as well as a five star. So I'd rather be the one who flash the score board. Turned out I was right. This is a restaurant I will go back again. The review who scored badly really didn't give details what disappointed them. I was right. Food was great and service was good. We used to come over for business in Milton Keynes, and liked to have dinner here.
Now, once every year, we visit the Chengdu. We miss this quality in Germany.
I recommend this restaurant.

We tried this restaurant as a result of reading a couple of very good reviews. Based on what we found, we were left wondering if there are two restaurants of the same name in Buckingham and we found the wrong one. This was one of the worst experiences of Chinese food I have ever had.
We will not be eating here again.

I've been one of the regulars of this restaurant since it first opened. Never disappointed me once.
My job takes me to literally every corner of the world, and I have to say that Szechuan Chengdu in Buckingham is the best Chinese I've ever had.

Szechuan Chengdu:
There are a lot of dishes I've never seen before. But that's...oh my God....was awesome! I wish they had one like this in the States. Not only the presentation was amazing...with all these incredible vegetable sculptures to feed your eyes, the food was unbelieveably tasty. I particular loved the service here as the girl who waited my table was very attentive and knew the menu like the back of her hand. I found this review not helpful because...I went there myself the other day. Also based on previous reviews and it was spot on. Exactly what I expected. The only thing I would say is the restaurant is a little bit difficult to locate. It is tucked away inside a shopping mall, not on main street. We almost went to the one upstairs. We did after experiencing Chengdu and we suspected this reader went to this restaurant. My advice is - do not trust any rating. Just go and see for yourself. I highly recommend this restaurant.
