Good Points: Been a sturdy worker for the 3 years of its life...

Bad Points: ...but has a terminal illness, its 8 waste ink sponges are full and need replacement. Repair cost well in excess of £100 - replacement sponges alone £90+ and one hours labour by repairer.

General comments: Am left with a machine I have to scrap thanks to ludicrous system of waste ink disposal. And I have a huge quantity of spare cartridges going completely free to anyone in need as I can't use them on the replacement I have just had to buy. Let me know if interested at the cost of postage - they fit a wide range of older style printers.
Canon don't care about the environment then?!

    Reliable.
Excellent quality print on paper, photo paper and CD/DVD.
    Versatile printer driver options.
Batch scanner mode. (Auto sheet feeder)
Fax is reliable and supports high speeds.
If you're looking for a reliable and versatile printer the MP780 will fit the bill. It simply performs day after day whether scanning, faxing or printing.

I bought the Canon MP780 multifunction printer for my office at home to replace my existing HP multifunction printer. I have a small network of three people working within my company. I had to call in an IT specialist to try and set it up to work properly. First of all, you cannot use any type of print server with this. You are not able to use switches to connect more than one PC to the printer (Belkin especially is not compatible). The print function is only now usable with one PC acting a ...

I bought the Canon MP780 multifunction printer based on other reviews, and this is even better than I thought. You can specify automatic duplex printing, enlargement and reduction on the copying, two paper trays (for say regular and photo paper, or draft and quality paper), and a combination of both flat bed and auto sheet feed. You can save profiles - preset combinations of features such as for borderless 4x6 photo or, draft black and white letter etc. There is also an energy power save mode ...

Recently bought this Canon MP780 and it was Dead On Arrival. The scanner was faulty and the retailer really took me to task. Went direct to Canon who agreed scanner faulty and advised I got new machine. Watford Savastore disagreed. Several calls later they agreed to replace. New machine fine. The product is great, just bad luck that was faulty.
