I've been using my D70s professionally for the last three years. I produce images for a variety of clients. The images are clear & sharp, the quality is excellent, easily comparable to camers far more expensive. So good in fact, I intend to carry on using it until it falls apart! I even bought a second one as a back -up. Nikon's really hit the nail on the head with this one.

I've been using Nikon for decades and just got a D70 a few months before the announcement of the 20D. I love the 20D, and after using it they are similar cameras, and each is a little better depending on what you want to do. Neither is better on an absolute basis. No one pays me anything for my opinions or sponsors me, I have to go buy stuff the same way you do. If I started from scratch again the D70 would win for me personally since I work in the field in changing conditions and need immediate access to all adjustments and fast flash sync, but everyone's different. If I shot sports or shot a lot of action in extremely low light the 20D would be the winner since it goes to ISO 3,200 and has almost double the frame rate of the D70. Nikon provides these with a direct button. You spin one knob for image size in pixels and the other knob to select quality, which defines the file size or compression level.Canon has no direct setting for image quality; you have to wade through menus. Personally I change quality settings from scene to scene and need direct access. The Canon menus also are impossible to read in direct sunlight. You can change the (set) button to provide direct access to the quality settings if you doodle around with custom settings as explained on page 140 of Canon's the English manual, which I'd strongly suggest.

I would personally recommend Nikon D70s for producing top of the range quality pictures. I got this camera for my birthday and had no idea of how to operate a DSLR camera but since Nikon D70s is so easy to use, I got the hang of using it ever since. Nikon D70s also provides amateur photographers with its auto-focus that makes pictures seem like they are taken professionally. All in all, I had no doubt of the camera, it is the best ever. The quality and performance is worth the price.

I love this Nikon D70s camera. I've use it to take pictures professionally at weddings and it has more than lived up to the job. I did one wedding with a friend who was using the Canon 2D, whether it was her ability as a photographer I don't know, but there is a definite difference in image quality, and to say my camera was half the price of hers! Easy to use menus, takes a little time to remember the short cuts, but over all, a fantastic camera. I would definitely recommend to those who are in it for fun or starting out as a photographer.

he Nikon D70s digital camera rules, rocks and owns. This is the best camera I have ever tried! If you are at least a little bit interested in photography, buy it. The auto focus is great, and you almost never have to charge it. It's perfect when you want to take action photos, because it's about 10x faster than a usual pocket digital camera. It works well in low temperatures as well. I have even taken it to the North Pole!

A good combination is to have one D70 and one smaller digital camera, because sometimes it's too big.

I have found the Nikon D70s digital camera to be very easy to use. Features such as exposure compensation aren't as daunting to use as they are with film cameras. As with all digital cameras, you can see the image that you have taken. The LCD screen is clear and bright, and there is an option to alter the settings as necessary.

Battery life is excellent, and I cannot find any fault with this camera. My friend has bought the D50 based on his experience of using the D70. The D50 is slightly smaller than the D70, which suited him.
