    Good Points: Great macro mode. Manual control. 28mm wide lens. Fast start up time.


    Bad Points: Only ISO settings 64 and 100, 200 usable, higher ISO has unacceptable levels noise. White areas burn out unless you control the balance.


    General comments: Picture quality from the Ricoh Caplio GX8 can vary from very good to acceptable. You are likely to get much better results if you use the manual settings rather than let the camera do all the work.
