    Absolutely shambolic. Initial cover did not reflect the proposal form, breakdown cover documents had to be chased up 4 times, simple spelling errors on documentation, renewal forms for insurance never sent, renewal forms for breakdown cover came 2 weeks after renewal date. Finally, after speaking to a manager, they said that renewal documents had been sent (that was 4 weeks ago)! I have a much better service and significantly better quote from Aviva. This company are just rubbish.

    1st Quote called me as I looked at a website for car insurance, Gave me a quote and deducted the money from my account. Almost two weeks later I have still to receive my documents despite promises to deal with the problem.

    i was 9 months into policy and wanted to add another car to my policy.After 40 mins waiting on the phone i was told i cant so i cancelled insurance and took policy out elswhere because i cancelled my policy 1stquote charged me a cancelation fee that was more than what i had left to pay them

    FIRST CLASS SERVICE. After being with my previous insurer for years I decided to change due to the price. What a good move. First class service and really good price. Unfortunately I had to make my first ever claim recently after vandals set fire to my car during the night. Within an hour of reporting this to 1stquote everything was sorted and my hire car on the way. Settled within 10 days. Not had one single problem with this company and would recommend to everyone.

    1stquote.co.uk Car Insurance are a SHOCKING company to deal with, I would NEVER recommend to my worst enemy....if you cancel your policy with them, they continue to take money of your account, ignore correspondence and then add some spurious excessive penalty charges. You cancel your policy with them they will act like a child throwing it's toys out of the pram.....AVOID

    Very unhelpful, docs came through totally wrong, and when i cancelled

    wish i never heard of 1stquote.co.uk was given quote then phone calls from them price went up each time applied to change private plate intial charge then told
    wish i never heard of them total disaster. policy arrived three days before insurance was due. kept on changing their prices everytime i recieved a phone call from them to which they said was in there favour not mine.

    I had been quoted for fully comprehensive car insurance cover by 1stquote.co.uk and when the paperwork arrived it was for third party only.

    When cancelling I was told there would be no charge. The cancelation paperwork arrived and I thought that was the end of it. Now 6 months on I am being chased by a debt collection agency for £96. I was informed a letter had been sent to my home, however I have since moved so never received information from a company I no longer have dealings with.

    I just wondered if anyone else had been in touch regarding 1st quote insurance? I ' ve had a few issues with them in the past few weeks and started to look up reviews about them on line and all the reviews are very bad, ranging from trying to complain and being put on hold for half an hour before being cut off, trying to make a claim and it taking months and sometimes the parent insurer having never heard of the person supposedly insured through 1st quote.

    Had a quote with 1ST Quote for a year. Got the renewal documents through but with no price. When we phoned up the policy had gone up and i told them i did not want to continue, the person said ok and that they would cancel my direct debit. I also did it my end.

    Signed up with 1stquote.co.uk Car Insurance after finding them cheap on Moneysupermarket. Filled in all details and clicked to confirm... only to get a screen saying there had been a problem and the insurance had not been issued... but that they had still taken payment!
    Gave a code to quote when ringing up.
    Tried for an hour only to go round and round in their system without actually speaking to anyone.
    Still trying to get my money back.

    If you read their terms of business you'll see everything that they won ' t take responsibility for. The company makes money by taking monthly payments of money from you for which they will charge you for which other insurance companies supply. Why can't we deal direct these?).

    I cant believe so many people seem to have problems, I have used 1st quote for 3 years now on 2 bikes and a car. The only real problem I have ever had was with an insurance company getting my details wrong over and over not 1st quote themselves. I admit that it can take a while to get through to an operator but whenever I have needed documents they have generally arrived as promised usually within 3 days or been sent to the dealers as requested.

    I am waiting to tax my car which runs out in 2 days and can't do it without a cover note to say they've renewed my insurance. They said it would arrive Tuesday - it didn't. Then Wednesday - it didn't. So I called again, they said they'd posted it first class but I never got it. They said they'd email me it as well so I could at least tax my car, but I waited 24 hours and no email.     I found this insurance company rather helpful and explained a lot to me that I didnt quite understand. I am glad to have come across this 1st Quote Insurance. I feel my standards were met and I would recommend to anyone.

    Can't believe other people have had problems with 1stquote.co.uk documents, thought it was just me. Had to reply because couldn't believe how widespread this seems to be. Didn't receive the correct documents for over a year, Have informed them of my new address 5 times. Then when i did get them my premium had doubled! Phoned them and after 20 mins of my lunch break, they answered and said someone had made a 3000 pound claim against me, all without my knowledge as i received no paperwork. Is this ...

    I took out a motorcycle insurance policy with them purely because they were the cheapest for me (first motorcycle, 0 NCB).

    I was desperate to get out on my bike as I had paid the insurance in full and was ready to go! I waited and waited for the insurance cover note to come through the post but to no avail. After a few days I phoned them and their rep said that they had posted it 1st class 3 days prior, but they would send out another one 1st class immediately.

    Currently trying to call them, been on the phone now for over 50 minutes getting told I am in a queue and will be dealt with shortly. After 55 mins got dealt with within 2 mins when asked if I could speak to the complains department they informed me to contact head office. I will have to write not phone.

    Due to the what I call excessive period of time I would not recommend 1stquote Car Insurance and will go elsewhere when renewal comes around.

    I quickly realised that generally, 1st Quote car insurance have an appalling level of customer service. My policy documents eventually arrived with several basic errors. For example, my job title was incorrect, and the value of my car was incorrect (ie. not what I entered when obtaining the quotation). On trying to rectify these problems on two separate occasions, I received not a single acknowledgement to any of my e-mails.
