“BSA SUPER 10”

Written on: 02/09/2012

I got a BSA SUPER 10 mk2 3 weeks ago, I didn't go out to buy the gun , I did a deal on another of my air rifles, I hadn't owned a BSA pcp before this, but I gotta say, I LOVE THIS GUN, it just feels right in your hands, I'm not a fan of .22 air rifles as a rule but...... Up to 40-60 metres (1 mil dot) I would challenge anyone to a shoot off, it's that accurate, the bolt action is slightly noisy( not excessive), The trigger is fantastic, and magazine is great, although I found different... I own a MKII Superten and a couple nicer rifles. As far as value, the BSA can't be beat. As far as user friendly, it lacks, especially if you have problems breathing and talking at the same time. The bolt needs special attention, so, pay attention. The accuracy right out of the box for the money can't be beat! As far as magazine problems or a leaking cylinder, I haven't had any problems. It's heavy, its ten year old technology, great value, do some push ups and buy this rifle! (read more)

I bought a 2nd hand FAC BSA super10 mk2. Its a fantastic rifle. I have not had one problem with it. I love it. Extremely accurate and great for long range. Slightly on the heavy side. I can get 40-45 good power shots from my 200cc buddy bottle. Some people complain about the magazine and cocking handle, but I cant fault it at all. (Some ppl just to hard to please) Now looking online for a spare buddy bottle for the longer day shooting. I would give this 10/10. For this type of rifle I would... (read more)

Written on: 26/08/2009

The BSA superten is very cheap second hand for a pcp of this quality and it can be bought as FAC, however if bought at 12ft/p i would go .177, the gun suprisingly fires it seems half a tin of pellets before the 200cc buddy bottle needs refilling. The BSA supersport looks beutiful i would go as far to say one of the best looking air rifles in the world. however i do not like the weight of the gun, i am not that strong and it does tend to make your arm ache after a long shoot but this might... I bought the BSA Super ten almost new from a dealer, wondered why someone would sell such a beautiful looking gun so soon after buying it. Then realized first time out it is the worst gun i have ever had, you have to tip toe and gingerly operate the thing, I absolutley hate it. The first day out I ended up with 2 slugs in the barrel ( yes i dilligently operated the bolt and also tried to verify each slug making contact but still ended up with a ruined barrel) replacment cost 120... I found this review not helpful because...
I own 2 of these and this guy obviously did not know how to load the pellets correctly. He obviously got robbed to,paying 600 pound for a used super10.I suspect he never pulled the bolt down on the rear pull or he put the wrong sized pellets in,either way you would not need to replace the barrel as the pellets are made of led and would of simply moulded in to the rifling, which makes me think he has not filled the buddy bottle correctly.Guy dont know how to use the gun and the only thing bad I have to say about it,is the weight but a sling soon sorts that. I love my s10s

This muppet has not read the instructions correctly. Pull back on the bolt, pull it down do the rear lock position, lift up bolt, push forward, lock down, the gun is armed! Pull the trigger, and the gun fires! Simple as, you have to operate the damned bolt properly, not go out and start firing like Charlie Sheen in Hot Shots Part Deux!

I`ve had my Super10 for years, never had a problem with the gun/how it fires/loads/performs. Mags do need to be cleaned and lubed every so often to keep them working crisp. Buddy bottles have nearly always leaked when out of the gun (just slightly, noticeable when a wet finger is placed over the valve hole). It is a heavy gun, but that`s what I like about it.
Overall rating.........NOT FOR SALE.

It's light, got a 10 shot magazine (which loads easily) and the cocking action is small. It's accurate and looks sweet and is comfortable to shoot. I bought mine 2nd hand and sometimes the pellet doesn't load from the magazine and it dry fires. The buddy bottle is a bit fiddly, unlike some guns where the bottle is built in to the gun. I Just Bought a BSA Super 10 Yesterday. It Is a Fantastic Rifle ! I Had An Air Arms S410 Before It, Even Though The S410's Bolt Action Is Faster And Reloading The Mag Is Faster, I Would Still Say The Super 10 Is a Better Rifle. As I Said, I Have Only Had The Rifle One Day So My Thoughts May Change About It. “Excellent rifle. ”

Written on: 26/09/2007 by keviem68 (1 review written)

Excellent rifle.
You can possibly use a tin of pellets on 1 fill of the air tank. Well it seems like it.
It can get heavy, but a comfortable way to carry can be found, that's easiest for you, with very little time.
Very consistent with accuracy even with little air in the tank.
I use mine for rabbiting, and have had 3 perfect shots without disturbing the other prey in close proximity to my prey.
I can highly recommend this rifle over a Air Arms TX200 TC, and any Weihrauch. (read more)

Mine is a mk2 carbine. Cheaper than other buddy bottle rivals. Bolt needs to be pulled back and dowm, otherwise safety mech activates, which is annoying, so have mod bolt on mine. Not the prettiest rifle. However, solid biuld, stock chunky, and will withstand hunting forays, unlike some rivals, whose guns look nice, but are to fragile. A chrony proves how consistent this gun is, you'd be surprised that some pcp rifles are not very consistent. Power bang on the limit, and stays that way until... (read more)

The BSA Superten rifle is whisper quiet, unbelievably accurate AND powerful for a legal air arm. If you practice your 'hold over' you can shoot accurately and powerfully at very long ranges. Pumping it is a pain, but at least you get a good number of shots from the standard bottle. Beautifully made and pleasure to use, this is one rifle you'll keep for a long time. (read more)

I bought my BSA Superten Carbine secondhand, but from a dealer. It's .22 and came fitted with a Tasco 2.5-10x40 Varmint scope and a laser. Its also been fitted with a Theoben Evolution silencer rather than the BSA one as standard, not sure why but it works!

I need to correct my review of the SuperTen...

Had a similar problem. It was the magazine. I found that the probe was rough and hard to push in at times. this coinsided with the fliers.
The holes in the outer metal case and the iner plastic drum dont always line up. this i rectified by taking the magazine apart and fileing the holes in the outer case larger.

Written on: 07/05/2008

Just bought a MK111 walnut bullbarrel carbine in 177. Using AA fields I was getting one on one and then thought I'd try a bis magnum. After that I could not get better than 2" grouping over 25 metres using AA fields, I filled the bottle up 5 times and went through loads of pellets and still the same. Eventually I decided to undo the flat screw in cap on the end of the barrel. I let the baffles of the internal silencer ease forwards and then I pushed them hard in and released the spring tension on them and did the nut back up. I now get one on one again - absolute accuracy using AA fields Diablo I concluded that the bis mag must have knocked the baffles out of line. A simple remedy that took seconds to do and I now enjoy my rifle 100%. Hope this helps you all.

Very nice gun, bit heavy but it makes up for that in shear power and masculinity! I only use high quality pellets such as crossman accupel, I have found using cheap pellets increases target clusters up to 2inches. (read more)

Written on: 24/05/2003 by Roger.

I returned to airgun shooting last year after a 15 year lay off. Living in a semi rural area in my youth I have owned many air rifles: BSA Airsporters', Webley MkIII's, Sharp Innova's to name but a few. Finding myself in the postion to be able to persuade the wife to let me shell out on a pre-charge I bought a Superten MkII.

This is by far and away the best hunting air rifle I have ever owned. I have dropped more rabbits in the last 3 weeks than I did in a year with the old underlever and... (read more)

Quite simply the best air rifle i have ever shot. A deadly accurate rifle on both field targets and vermin. 10 shot mags are reliable as long as you keep them clean. well balanced with plenty of space up front for hands and a bipod. (unlike other rifles in the same catagory). a good rifle for beginners and experienced shooters alike. (read more)

The BSA SuperTEN is deadly accurate up to 60 yards. The smooth and quiet action is brilliant. The magazine system is one of the best i've used, and fitted with a Logun silencer makes it silent out at 20 yards. I would recommend this rifle to anyone who wants a top multishot sporter. (read more)

I have to disagree; I have purchased a superten as my first pre-charged and I love it. I would not go back to spring or Theoben Sirocco ( a very goog gun ) It is accurate, right up to 12lbs, good to handle, easy to use with good shot capacity. I am getting very tight groups at 45 yards. All in all a very good choice.

I have to agree with unhappy superten owner,my Hornet is supposed to have same regulator as s/ten and i`m having mega probs,i feel for you.People generally only want to let other people know how well they`ve done, harder to say "hey,i`ve made a mistake here",this gun is naff.

I bought a FAC Superten and have regretted it ever since. I am experiencing an amazing 20 fps deviation between shots, in spite of the regulator being "repaired" by BSA. How can this be considered accurate? I wonder how many people out there with one of these guns are experiencing the same without even knowing it? When I got it back, not one note, not one word about what was wrong with it or indeed if they even had found anything wrong with it at all. Poor service, poor customer care, and most of all, its a disgrace that their flagship rifle seems to be beyond their understanding and abilities. Never again will I buy a BSA in spite of the fact that we always have done right back through the decades. Rubbish regulator, rubbish magazine, rubbish gun. I would throw the thing in a skip except for the fact that it cost me so damn much! Trust me, if you want a Theoben lookalike, don't. Just scrape up the extra and buy the real thing, thats what I'm doing.

Had 2x in as many weeks both were terrible!
Lucky to get 4" groups at 40yds! 1st gun was bull barrel carbine 2nd standard carbine both in .177!

the mags on these guns are very flaky & the cocking action heavy clunky!

Easley the worst MS gun I have ever tried!
Not a patch on my AA s410k & no match for the Rapid 17 I should have bought in the first place!

the superten has a regulator so you would have to let the bottle pressure get real low before the pellet accuracy is affected so badly as you say.
Get your rifle checked.
Does anyone know where you get get them upped from 12 ft/lbs to 30 ft.lbs FAC?
