Good Points: I enjoyed this movie for its pacing and build-up of the main character. While the pace is snail paced when compared to the usual hyperactive films currently being produced, it took time to let the character develop and I, as the viewer, could feel the pent-up emotions of Mr. Penn's character building to the irrational course it ultimately took. I thought the movie a very realistic portrayal of one man's psychological melt-down and self-destruction a very compelling commentary on the individual versus a society in which one does not fit.

Bad Points: Insofar as the movie I cannot isolate any particular bad points. My only disappointment was that the DVD lacked the director's commentary version of the movie. I would liked to have had some insight into the thinking that went into the scenes.

General comments: I really enjoyed The Assasination Of Richard Nixon and would recommend it to those who appreciate well crafted movies geared to grown-ups. I would not recommend it to viewers who insist on instant non-stop action/adventure wound around an improbable plot serving as a vehicle to fire as many guns and set off as many explosions as possible.

The Assasination of Richard Nixon was a very disappointing film in my eyes. Despite a stellar cast, it is a snoozefest of a movie that never gets out of first gear.

The storyline for this film is such a bore that it's untrue. Sean Penn plays the loser who wants to assasinate Nixon because his life is falling apart, and for some reason he blames the head of state.

This film is frankly rubbish and one to avoid. I'm sure messrs Penn, Cheadle & Watson will look back at this chink on their CV ...
