Dirty Hippo sends unsolicited text messages to Cingular customers and God knows who else. You will be billed $9.99 a month without ever signing up for their service. I deleted the incoming message without opening it and was still charged for receiving the message. They also bill under the name of Blinko - SAME COMPANY. If your phone is filed with the do not call registry, you can file a complaint with donotcall.gov.

I have never visited Dirty Hippo before today. I just found out that I have been charged over $120 over the past 3 months for product I neither received or approved of. In fact the line that got charged is rarely ever used and has never had an internet/data plan. No other people have access to this phone and it is turned off 90% of the time. I just received my cell phone bill to find $18.00 in charges from "dirtyhippo". I have never even heard of "Dirty Hippo" until I got this bill!!! I have never downloaded a thing on my phone...I don't even know how to!! They are scammers!!! I cannot contact them because their phone number only has a recording...no live person to speak to!! Tried emailing to just be ignored...no reponse back!!! I called my cell phone carrier and demanded they reverse these charges and they did. But I have to leav ...

Dirty Hippo needs to be stopped - I am being charged $19.98 per month and there seems to be no way to stop them. My cell provider cannot stop the downloads I get nothing from them. Don't even want their subscription. I can see how they came into their name the only thing missing is "underhanded" be very carful of this company.

I received numerous text messages from Dirty Hippo, and I always delete them. When I get my bill I have a charge for every message they sent, even though I never opened any of them. My Cell company (Cingular) told me to call them and they would refund the $28.08 on my bill, but you cannot talk to anyone. I have never downloaded any music from them, or opened any of their text messages, and I still got charged. I want the charge taken off my bill, or I will have to take it further.

I believe my daughter must have visited the Dirty Hippo ringtone and wallpaper site, and now I have received two months of charges on my cell phone bill of $9.99 each. The charges were disputed and refunded, but there is no phone number to call to contact this company.

Be Very careful when you search this site. You will be signed up for a subscription, and you will not even know it. By the time you see the charges on your bill, they are unwilling to refund your money. They are tricky by already having boxes checked that you "agree" to their terms.

They charged my cell phone account starting June 30, 2005 at 1.99/week. Their 888-898-7623 phone number appears to have been disconnected. The parent company (Vitaminic USA, Inc.) is located in San Francisco at 415-781-7670, and I'm about to give them a call. My cell phone company has refunded the charges, except for one in June, and is aware of dirtyhippo's dirty tactics. They are getting lots of calls from customers with these charges magically appearing on their bills.

I have never visited dirtyhippo and now I have 4 charges on my cell phone bill from dirty hippo and I am annoyed about it. I disputed all four charges and they accepted only 2 of the charges denied. I want my money back even if it is four dollars I did not get anything for my money.

I totally agree with the other reviewers' comments. I had no intentions on subscribing. I contacted Dirtyhippo only to check out their free offer. I received nothing then, nor have I ever received anything from them. This happened in February of this year and it is now the last week of June. I've been charged $1.99 each week since that time. Dirty Hippo is a website that provides downloads of wallpapers and ringtones via subscription. The problem is - you don't have to subscribe for them to actually charge you. Yes, what your read was correct. They will charge you even if you don't subscribe! And when you try and contact them for a refund, you get the run around.

My son was duped by their web site into signing up for a ring tone subscription. He had no idea he was buying anything. Be careful what you do on this web site if you are just looking.

Really like this site, saw them advertised on MTV subscribed to one of their services. Dirty Hippo is really good value compared to single downloads.
