Three times I have had to replace my Dualit 84009 coffee machine, with different faults. I returned the last and they lost my accessories. The customer service team at Dualit put me through the Spanish inquisition. I am the house of Dualit: toaster, mixer, kettle etc and have now decided if they are not prepared to help customers like me, then I can vote with pound. Shambolic company, great brand, will turn Dualit into a me too organisation making poor performing products and losing... (read more)
“3 machines in 8 months”

The first machine did not work at all. Exchanged it and the second one worked well for eight months. Very noisy and messy, but good coffee. It gave up the ghost after the 8 months and I then had a third, which again did not work at all. I have now given up and bought a different brand, which is a much better machine all round. I have owned one of these for coming up to 8 years now. I have experienced most of the problems described in the other reviews on and off. The rivet holding the 2-cup separator has just very recently broken off and since at some point in the past we chipped the lip that holds the filter down when you tap the filter holder to get the coffee out, I now think it's worth replacing the filter holder (it'll be the first replacement and the machine has never needed a repair). Good looking machine,a baby professional unit, one needs to practice with the foamer on the Dualit 84009 but the results are well worth it! A great machine and I just wonder why i didn't get one years ago! Get one and don't regret it! (read more)

The best feature of the Dualit 84009 Chrome Espresso Coffee Maker is the way it looks.
From that point it is all downhill. The coffee holder is built flimsily such that both the inner cup thumb restrainer and the twin exit nozzles have broken with ordinary use.
Furthermore, the machine generates insufficient pressure to develop a proper cream with a full load of coffee and, instead, blows steam from the frother. When you actually want steam there the machine does not produce enough and...

Have replaced two separate Dualit 84009 Chrome Espresso Coffee Maker machines - each of which developed a fault - the attentiveness and customer care was however first class - and given my overall pleasure with the product I think it is seriously worth considering! (read more)

Have just returned my second Dualit 84009 to the retailer after nine months use and obtained a refund (My previous machine was replaced after ten months with the same fault). The machine is generally very good but has a design fault on the filter holder. A rivit is welded to the bottom of the filter holder and after continued use it detatches and is not repairable. I understand Dualit have solved this problem on the latest version of this machine but stocks of this machine with the newer... (read more)

Would any kind person out there, have a spare coffee holder and filter cup. I sent my third unit back to Dualit and they returned it working without the accessories, so now I have a very expensive steamer !!

Similar experience to this reviewer. First two machines had to be replaced. Third eventually developed the same fault (poor pressure) and had to be fixed out of warranty. Now the machine had broke again. Same issue. Will not be fixing and will be buying different make. Definitely not recommended.
