    Good Points: Friendly staff.
    Central location.
    Very clean.
    Good food.
    Great entertainment.
    Excellent value.

Bad Points: The pool was very clean but did have a few broken floor tiles, which were not pleasant to walk on.
I would recommend you take a pillow with you as they only provide one very flat pillow. We found this very uncomfortable.
    No major faults though.

General comments: The Tafbel or Sarges as it is now known, is excellent value for money. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. We had fresh towels and bedding daily; the room was immaculate. It was basic with one large wardrobe, a telephone, TV, ac and dressing table but when on holiday what more do you need. The hotel offers a fantastic position as everything you need is on the doorstep. It is the liveliest resort to be in. Great for younger people but quiet enough to please families and older generations.
The food is excellent and the entertainment is good. A good feel all round. This is excellent for first time visitors.
It is currently being refurbished so can only get better.

As I say, Hotel Tafbel in the Gambia is a reasonable basic hotel. It's not four star, a bit scruffy but very safe and friendly. Kololi is a rather run-down version of Blackpool, but it's very easy to get away from the resort (though there are good feeding holes - try GTS just five minutes walk away) by haggling with one of the taxi drivers. Bakau is just 10 minutes drive away, and it is a busy fishing village with an excellent market. Enjoy!

The situation of Hotel Tafbel was very good and everything within walking distance.
Lots of places to eat and a few nightclubs.
Hotel is getting a bit run down and would suggest staying in a higher rated hotel.
Rooms had plenty of space but all the wood fixtures had been painted grey. The ceiling was cracked with bits missing.
