I bought a oven hob 5 weeks ago from Comet and took extra insurance cover for accidental damage. The sales assistant told us it was new for old and that it would be replaced in the store if accident was to happen. This was not to be, I dropped a oven hood on top of the hob and it smashed to pieces I took it back to the store to be told it would have to be sent away before we could have a new one, and that could take up to 2 weeks. We haven't had to make use of their after market service, instead relying on HP when we had an issue with the computer. But, I must say their prices were the best for an item we could have bought at 10 different shops. I would recommend for pc purchases.

I bought a splashback, did not check for 11 days as we were not fitting til then and I wanted this left in the box to save it. I though I would have had 28 days to return.
Box was undamaged, but when I open it up there was a huge dent in the spashblack
Phoned CS and they would not do anything as it was outside 7days and they told me it was in there terms and conditions the item had to be checked and reported on for damage

My computer broke. I phoned customer service 6 nights in a row . I was put on hold for 50 min at a time COMPLETE SHAMBLES THAT WAS 3 WEEKS AGO STILL WAITING I HAVE CASHED IN MY EXTENDED WARRANTYCUSTOMER SERVICE HAVE GOT TO GET THERE ACT TOGETHER ALSO ANY PHONE CALLS MADE SHOULD BE A FREEPHONE NUMBER.

I bought a laptop from Haverford West comet shop. This was the only piece available there. there was a 14 day return policy. Since the laptop was displayed there they deducted £50. But on the bill they wrote non-pristine stock. Then I thought I shouldn't buy a laptop which was displayed. The Comet store nearest to me is in Yeading, Middlesex. I went to buy a computer, and I found a store that resembled a second hand shop, as most of the goods on show were dirty, and some were broken or damaged. I chose them because of the value for money they offered. The web page is OK, but it should be standard these days. The problem was that they don't tell you what cards they accept. To me it meant that after all the box filling and ticking, I was denied the opportunity to pay with the visa electron card I had intended to pay with. I went to purchase a new computer at Comet. The one I chose was not available, so I chose another one, slightly dearer. Apparently their computer was showing 4 in stock, so the assistant took my payment with a Visa card, went into the stockroom and promptly came back out and told me they hadn't got any. He couldn't refund my payment as the computers were down. So he expected me to walk out of the store minus £400. and my computer!!!

Dont order from Comet if goods are shiped by ParcelForce. My items took 7 days to leave Preston, arrived in Ireland in 24 hours and has still not been delivered expected on Monday some 11 days from despatch. Poor service for a high price.

I ordered a camera and a memory card from Comet at the beginning of January. The memory card was out of stock, so they would refund me. I eventually had a refund, after calling them on 3 consecutive Saturdays, and I was told every time that the refund was on its way when it wasn't.

I order a TV over the Internet and gave my credit card details. Comet requested authorisation and received it (According to credit card company). So re-did order and gave Amex card, Comet requested and received authorisation twice. I now have £7500 against my credit line. Whilst they didn't take the money the requests are held against credit line. Call centre agreed that they had done this but Customer Service denied this

I ordered a Sony DVD player from Comet before Christmas. They had it in stock and I was able to choose from several delivery dates. By paying more I could have chosen morning or afternoon, and for more still, I could have chosen to have it delivered on Saturday.
They delivered on the day I had chosen, and the package was in excellent condition.

I bought a Rio Carbon from Comet, and paid extra for delivery on a specific day for a special anniversary present about 11 days later. It wasn't delivered on time, or the next day, or the next, or the day after that...
Remonstrances to Comet and Parcelforce fell on deaf ears, each blaming the other, and they were obviously unconcerned that they had completely ruined a surprise. I'll never use either again.
