    Never ever ever buy Comet extended warranties!! Domestic and General are the company and niether take responsibility!
    We have had them out 5 times in a row!!!!!!
    3 times they came with the wrong part!!!!!!!
    5 time they fixed it but did not text the repair leaving us with washing stuck in the machine for 6 days as they refused to come back instead booking another appointment!!!
    No aplogies no compensation, no excalation process!!
    NEVER buy an extended warranty! We have spend more in laundrette and staying home for engineers than machine ever cost!
    We are still without a machine after 6 weeks!!!!!
    We have even pointed out my wife is home alone with a 1yr old baby as I am away and they simply told us there ws not point registering a complaint as it may be fixed by the time they get round to assigning someone to investigating it!

    I actually had a very good experience with Comet when I bought my Panasonic stereo. I ordered online first, and then picked it up from the store. It was all very simple and the level of service was good, but actually went a bit too far-

    Tip for Comet: DON'T line up your entire staff in front of the doors, it doesn't make your store look inviting.

    Bought a extended warranty comet run,with a fridge from Comet ,when the item broke down in high summer
    It took the useless non entitys!! over 2 months and countless calls to repair my fridge. I had to buy a small one just to keep any food.Most extended warranty schemes call the manufacturers service team who have parts on board their vans. Comets own staff come and order parts,then you wait and wait.NEVER EVER !!! will i buy anything from Comet ever again!! Totally hopeless company!!

    Washer/drier, a couple of months out of warranty, tried to get a repair, they said manufacturer was responsible. WRONG - Sale of Goods Act 1979 (amended etc) says COMET are responsible as the retailer. Said I'll have to pay. WRONG - SOGA applies again, goods not lasting a reasonable amount of time (we're talking a few months here, not years).

    Looks good initially, delivery great, good prices. BUT.....if something goes wrong beware! Comet staff make statements which are completely wrong and misleading and appear to have no knowledge whatsoever of the basic terms of the Sale Of Goods Act. Letters of complaint are ignored. I would never purchase from Comet again - if something goes wrong you are left with unusable goods.

    I purchased an item and returned it as it was not my charger but laptop that was broke. The Comet staff at Robin Park was rude and give no customer care or help! I would never shop here again!! I had not used the product but opened it and tried it. What happened to politeness towards customers! The policy states you can return opened items and get a credit note. I found this not to be true.

    Well Comet what can you say??? long time ago I bought something from them and it was nothing but aggro Nothing has changed Bought a blu ray player from them on offer ONLY problem is it wont play blu ray dvds just turns it self off Now according to comet its samsungs fault not theres All i wanted was a replacement but because i had it more than 28 days i have to have it repaired??!!! they could have just checked but they must be so hard up for money they wont refund!     Found a problem with my sony item in 2 days and had to be item-checked on-site to qualify for repair service (don't do refund in Comet, the maneger said!) if the item is not repairable, they need to call Sony for refund permission (it's Sony giving you money back, but not Comet, the maneger said!)......Basically, there were all excuses for not taking money out of their pocket.
    (it was 10% cheaper, and now I have wasted the rest 90% of my money)

    Unbelievably Comet won't give me my money back if I have opened the box! But to test a product that receives transmissions (like a radio or a TV) at home, you have to open the box!

    Have used comet for several purchases online. Have bought a camera, wii fit, and washing machine. All were delivered on time, and all were the correct items. Have just recently ordered range oven, hood and dishwasher from them as they had a fantastic offer on. There were problems with the transaction as I was using a new credit card, and the customer service team on the telephone were so helpful, and really on the ball too.     Quick and easy web site, ordered on line and collected in store. Fast service and true to their word. I would definitely use this site again to order goods, well recommend comet.co.uk.

    Returned my DVD player after only using it twice. 28 days is the time frame for faulty goods to be returned if you want exchange on faulty goods and we had just passed that. Excepted the other option of repair (huge mistake) returned to the store two weeks later to pick up DVD player and asked it to be tested in store before we took it home, guess what, it didn't work, same problem.     After care service up till exchange at the store was exemplary and all departments kept me advised regarding engineers call out etc.
    I think it is outrageous that the customer is being penalised for having a faulty fridge. I only want a fridge that works same size same capacity not even looking for same make, but store cannot authorise exchange for this, mainly because of the price difference owing to the fact that i bought the items when there was a mangers special going on and i got 90 pounds ...

    I bought a oven hob 5 weeks ago from Comet and took extra insurance cover for accidental damage. The sales assistant told us it was new for old and that it would be replaced in the store if accident was to happen. This was not to be, I dropped a oven hood on top of the hob and it smashed to pieces I took it back to the store to be told it would have to be sent away before we could have a new one, and that could take up to 2 weeks. The insurance would no longer be valid for future accidents so ...

    We haven't had to make use of their after market service, instead relying on HP when we had an issue with the computer. But, I must say their prices were the best for an item we could have bought at 10 different shops. I would recommend for pc purchases.

    I bought a splashback, did not check for 11 days as we were not fitting til then and I wanted this left in the box to save it. I though I would have had 28 days to return.

    Box was undamaged, but when I open it up there was a huge dent in the spashblack

    Phoned CS and they would not do anything as it was outside 7days and they told me it was in there terms and conditions the item had to be checked and reported on for damage

    My computer broke. I phoned customer service 6 nights in a row . I was put on hold for 50 min at a time COMPLETE SHAMBLES THAT WAS 3 WEEKS AGO STILL WAITING I HAVE CASHED IN MY EXTENDED WARRANTYCUSTOMER SERVICE HAVE GOT TO GET THERE ACT TOGETHER ALSO ANY PHONE CALLS MADE SHOULD BE A FREEPHONE NUMBER.
