“Waiting for furniture...over a month encounting”

My partner and I went into our local Dunelm Mill on the 25/05/2014. Along with a couple of items we bought in store, we ordered 2 bedside tables cost £207. The gentleman that served us, helped fill in the details online it saved us the hassle of doing this ourselves, he told me that the delivery should be with us by the 13th. “Damaged Items delivered twice in one week.”

I ordered a brabantia bin from Dunelm's online store this week, it was delivered with a dent in the side so I took it back to the store for a refund and was told the only way I could re-order was online as they didn't have a replacement in stock. I did so the same day and the second bin was then delivered two days later with a dent in it AGAIN. This is ridiculous. I would never use them for online products again… Read Full Review

I waited (my own stupidity) for twenty minutes, for an assistant with "training" to be located, to cut me a length of piping cord in the Inverness store. I spoke to three other members of staff who all said they couldn't help. Two pairs of scissors were within my reach - I was so tempted!!! Heaven help us! “No Delivery, No Refund. Terrible service”

I ordered some furniture and bedding and paid for next day delivery. I took the day off work and the items were never delivered. I called customer services and they said there was a problem woth the courior. I had to cancel the order as I am rarely in to recieve it. I was told my money wouldn't be refunded until they had received goods back from the courior. So despite waiting in all day and never receiving the delivery I cannot get my money back yet.Really terrible service. I do not trust this… Read Full Review

“Clueless!”

After trying out a huge amount of mattresses in numerous shops we finally settled on one which we loved in Dunelm! However when trying to order the mattress instore it took around 30 minutes for the assistant to look for the mattress and ring various people (assistant was very helpful but it was very time consuming and I had a 3 year old to entertain during this time). “Disappointing customer service at the curtain department”

I went to Dunelm looking for a quote for some custom made curtains/blinds. I was assisted by a young shop assistant at the Manchester/Trafford centre location. After providing all the measurement and chose a couple of materials for the curtains, I had my quotes. I was quite happy and the lady by informing me that i could chose up to 5 samples and deliver them to my home address, it would have been even more fun iin selecting what i would like to have in my flat. ordered 2 square wall cupboards paid extra got them next day , great ,until we opened them and found that they were broke,dirty,and obviously been sent back by someone else,not only that,they were corner units triangle shape , even though box said square,after talking to dunelm found out that item we ordered does not exist,have now finally received a refund 14 days after returning item , only after sending numerous emails , would not phone as it cost £2.50 to call first time… Read Full Review

I bought some nets for my windows, the same as the nets I bought the identical window downstairs. (Measured) I needed a 40inch drop - so I ordered a 40 inch drop. Super - went home to hang them, and they were 2 inches short! Only measuring 38 inches. Also the cut on the edges was horrific! There was no way I was hanging those nets! Who do you think you are? As if the CEO of the company gives a damn about you being a stroppy little cheapskate. You are the epitome of our compensation culture and people like you make me sick. Did you ever stop to think that you misunderstood what the in store colleagues said or perhaps, shock horror, that they did get it wrong - guess what... People make mistakes!!! Completely agree! I just read it all and have no doubt that this woman was in the wrong. She clearly misunderstood and so to cover her own tracks, or in fact her own embarassment, tried to blame the staff in store.

“Only got one star because no option for none”

Ordered over £1000.00 worth of furniture. First informed order ready for delivery, then money debited from my account. Next thing I know money suddenly showing back in account. This has now happened twice. After reading other reviews, this seems to be how Dunelm are treating their customers. “Leaking Shower Cutain”

I purchased a shower curtain in November 2013 from the Lincoln store,the curtain looked attractive and although more expensive than most of the other ones, on looks alone I decided to buy it. I did not put up the curtain until February 3rd only to discover that the curtain was not waterproof and spayed water over my bathroom floor. Unbelievable I know, but that is a fact. “This company need to change”

Delivery smashed due to incompetent staff, replacement ordered. Wrong address on confirmation email. No response to Dunelm email service, they take 4 days to respond. Ears melt due to terrible music waiting for response on the phone. Wrong address again. Errors corrected, but they were telling porky pies. Wrong address again from courier company, all corrected again. More dreadful music , needed to send out for takeaway before I turned into a skeleton on the phone. “Appalling service”

Ordered chair for home delivery for elderly mother. It did not turn up on time. First attempt to contact Dunelm phone line said 'due to unforeseen circumstances we cannot take calls' - no reason! Second and third attempts was promised call back which did not materialise. Three weeks after ordering, my elderly mother received a letter from the delivery company saying they had a failed delivery - she is in a nursing home with 24 on site care so they had never tried to deliver. “Birkenshaw Uddingston store a nightmare ”

Trying to negotiate a trolley around the Uddingston store is impossible. The aisles are crammed full of merchandise and the spaces between each aisle is not big enough. I struggled with a trolley and when I mentioned it to a disabled woman in the lift she said that she had to hobble around the store on crutches as she couldn't get around the store in her wheelchair.
