I've just come back from a weekend at 'Cloud Farm' Doone Valley holidays. We were meeting friends here, but by mistake visted the Doone Valley Camping site, just over a pretty little bridge.

Whilst we had a lovely time at Cloud Farm camping by the river; there seemed to be a permanent fog and drizzle just above the campsite, when just down the road the weather seemed clear. Hence I guess the name 'Cloud Farm'.

It was a nice campsite, but as it is featured on the internet in several places it w ...

In good weather it was perfect.

We had a wonderful time at Cloud Farm Riverside Camping. Plenty of outdoorsy things to do. No materialistic interuptions. Open fires allowed. The children had hours of fun in the river & on the horse ride. Great walks. Fabulous home cooked food in the little shop.

Despite the scenery I couldn't recommend this site. It was expensive to stay here. There were extras for large tents, extras for awnings and extras for kitchen tents. The shop was well stocked and served fresh food and a large selection of homemade cakes. However, I felt the prices were overinflated and they took full advantage of the long drive to the nearest shop.
There was horseriding which is great if your kids are in to this but this means you need your wellies to avoid the muck. The facili ...

Ok. The Doone Valley is very pretty. However, we would not recommend this campsite to anyone. The bathroom and shower facilities were awful. We expected great facilities as it stated on their website that they had been recently refurbished. On the website it makes it seem like their is an indoor area to consume goods bought on site as their is a table in the shop on the website. However, in reality there appears tp be nothing of the kind when you get there. The drive in to the web site is an extr ...

An amazing find in this day and age of sanitized sites where you almost have to keep of the grass! Camping as its meant to be! The facilities are very good, clean and well maintained. Our kids loved the place totally.
Although without our 4x4 we would definitely have gotten stuck like a lot of the cars in the mud in the middle of the field. The shop is very well stocked although as you expect they do make the most of having a captive client le's when it comes to the pricing! But no more than yo ...

Nice setting but that's about all you can say. Won't be going back to Cloud Farm or recommending to friends.

Chatting to fellow campers, the Cloud Farm Riverside campsite has its fans. However, at the prices charged I expected better washing-up facilities and more toilets and showers. One Butler sink with cold tap and the need to transport hot water from the toilet/shower block was not ideal.
Given the size of the site I expected more toilets and showers. 3 toilets and two small shower cubicles, and three hand basins for men. 4 toilets and two showers for the ladies. We also thought the shop was ...

Cloud Farm Riverside Camping is a wonderful place to camp and an excellent base for getting to know Exmoor. The campsite is right in the valley away from roads. We felt the shop had everything you could ever need for camping, the cream teas were fantastic and everyone there was super friendly and more than willing to help. There were really good washing and drying facilities and the loos were good and clean. Kids loved having the riding stables on tap and it was great to be able to have a campfi ...

Set in a picturesque valley, Cloud farm has both good points and bad. The worst being their facilities. Even though they were only built last year, the toilet facilities were below standard, with only one shower, two toilets and two sinks in the ladies, and just the one sink in the men's, positioned next to the toilet. There are three fields to this campsite, and there should really be a toilet block in each. campers don't mind spending a couple of pounds per night more if the facilities are bot ...
